Napatingin si Blair sa labas ng bintana habang hinahaplos-haplos ang umumbok ng sinapupunan.
Maulap—dalawang linggo nang ganito ang panahon magmula nang tuluyang sumakabilang-buhay ang ina.

Habang patayo siya mula sa pagkakaupo sa gilid ng kama, nasa tabi niya na agad si Jack para alalayan siya. Sumuporta ang isang kamay nito sa likod niya habang ang isa ay nakahawak sa kanyang braso.
Lalong napangiti si Blair. Since her mother died, nag-day off muna ang nagtatampo at pakipot na Jack. Bumalik ang maasikaso niyang asawa.
Oh, well. Jack has always been like this. He sets aside his personal feelings for the need of others. Such a selfless man after all the years that passed by.
