Cassandra POV
I'm flying home.
The only thought on my mind for the past few hours since Jenna called me. I'm here after a 14 hour flight. In Virginia. I breathed in the familiar air and set out to meet the unknown.
I got a taxi and let myself be taken to Mystic Falls. The closer I got, the more incredible it was. I was coming back after swearing to myself that there was nothing left for me.
A little before midnight I saw a "Welcome to Mystic Falls" sign.
The taxi stopped in front of the house. I haven't seen this house in a few years, but it hasn't changed at all. The man helped me with my suitcase. I thanked him and paid before he disappeared into the darkness of the night, leaving me on the doorstep of a house that is still the same after all these years, yet I don't recognize it at all.
I slung my purse over my shoulder and dragged my suitcase behind me. I climbed the steps to the porch and stood in front of the main door. I knew from the silence that everyone was sleeping. So what else would they do after midnight, right?
I took my keys out of my purse, put the key in the lock, turned it and the door unlocked.
I walked through the door with my suitcase, I closed it and locked behind me. I pulled the suitcase up the stairs as quietly as I could so I would not wake anyone.
I saw the door to my old room and opened it to see a nearly empty room. I would say that someone probably misses me because the dust has been wiped and the windows have been polished and the bed has been made. Probably Aunt Jen, she was expecting my arrival, I have to thank her for that.
I'll have to leave the room decor for another time.
I took off my shoes and put them behind the door, I just want a shower right now. And some sleep.
I'm sometimes a very simple and uncomplicated woman, but only sometimes.
___
My outfit
I was already awake and ready for a new day, after a while the house started waking up. I heard an argument about who goes to the bathroom first. I smiled, some things don't change even after years. And you can't miss Jenna, who panics about breakfast
After a while, Jeremy and Elena leave for school, leaving Jenna behind. And that's my cue to head to the kitchen.
"Hi Aunt Jen," I smiled at her.
She quickly turns on me as if I'm an intruder but once she realizes who spoke, she relaxes. "Oh my god Cassie! Look at yourself so beautiful,'' she smiles and greets me with a hug that I return ''Who brought it back to us.. How is Europe? Talk, narrate, exaggerate. Maybe you met someone there and-''
