Cassandra POV

I felt the rays of the sun shining on my skin. Soft, pleasant and warm.

I opened my eyes and blinked to get used to the light in the room. When I wanted to sit down, a pair of hands around my waist stopped me. I turned to the owner. And he was next to me.

Niklaus. He breathed with his mouth closed, lightly and briefly. His eyes were closed and his eyelids fluttered slightly. He had a small smile on his lips and his face looked so calm and relaxed. I would never believe someone if he told me that this, this person sleeping right in front of me killed hundreds, thousands or even millions of people.

Such a sleeping puppy.

His arms around me were relaxed but still protective. His touch was pleasantly warm and I can say straight away that I have never been closer to anyone in my life. I've never slept so well, and especially not with someone in the same bed and in their arms.

I watched the sun's rays illuminate his face and let everything else be. I wanted to, so I did. I carefully pulled myself out of his arms and with one last look I lightly caressed his face.

I put the card to the lock and it beeped. I opened the door and quietly closed it behind me. It was dark, so I had to carefully go around the beds. I got to the curtains and smirked.

''Rise and shine sleepy heads!'' I shouted and opened the curtains fully. Even I had to close my eyes at the sudden light.

"Cassandra!" Elijah growled angrily and I started laughing.

"What? A little light won't hurt you, Eli.''

"Cassie," Stefan began sweetly. "Get out of here.''

I rolled my eyes at them. "I'm hungry and I want to have breakfast in time. So I'll be waiting for you outside the room in ten minutes. And if you don't come, waking me you up will be the least of your problems.''

I gave them one last sweet smile before walking to the door and leaving the room. Niklaus, already changed, was sitting on the couch in front of the room. "Good morning," I greeted him and sat down in the chair.

His smile grew and he shook his head. "Remind me not to get on your bad side," I winked at him in response.

"How come you don't have towels?" I wondered angrily. "I've told you probably a thousand times. 'When you go to the room, get us towels, we'll go to the beach.' But apparently it was going in one ear and out the other.''

"I'll go get them, okay? Give me a minute,'' Stefan said and hurried away.

"OMG. I'm stuck with idiots.''
