Niklaus POV

Today I'm gonna marry my soulmate.

I never thought I'd see the day, that I'd get someone who wakes up next to me every day and who chooses me above everything else. Ever since I learned I had a soulmate, I never felt worthy, like I had to be someone more. Then when I met the most amazing woman I thought I had lost her and several times I did, to this day I don't know why she chose me, though I will be eternally grateful to her.

Today is just a formality, I was hers the moment I saw her, I belonged to her from the moment I existed, and even if she hadn't chosen me, I would love her every day. That's why today is for tradition and maybe the reason is that I would love to see her in her wedding dress.

My future wife.

I straightened my bow tie as I smiled at my reflection in the mirror. And my peace was shattered the moment my brothers burst into my room.

''You look quite nice, Nik,'' Kol nodded with a smile, ''but don't be fooled, if you hurt her or don't come, I'll turn this little wedding into a bloodbath... just so we understand each other.''

Thana will always own a piece of his heart that no other woman will touch. Not even Keilani or his future wife. I want to be jealous of the bond they have with each other, but I can't because everything that makes her happy is protected. I pulled him in for a hug. ''I'd rather rip my heart out than hurt her.''

''I think we can agree on that.''

I saw Elijah grin behind him before he switched places with Kol and stood in front of me. ''I know I've said this before, but I'm very happy for you brother,'' he said with a small smile on his face, ''and not only have you found a woman that will stand with you no matter what, but you've found us a sister that we would kill and die for,'' he hugged me and I could feel how proud he was of me. ''So thank you for not letting your pride get in the way and finding us all salvation,'' he whispered before pulling away.

I could see how his thoughts were elsewhere, as if his words let him fall into his mind. I knew that Elijah had met her first and was fascinated by her. He had taken her under his protection and had a connection with her that he hadn't yet understood, because whenever he was lost in the dark, she didn't pull him into the light, but sat there beside him and let the world float around them, especially now that he'd discovered the mystery behind the red door.

That's why I wasn't surprised to hear the seriousness of his words. ''I don't need to repeat Kol's threat, just know that I'll join in.''

''I feel faith in me, brothers,'' I grinned at them. Touching moments in our family will always be ruined by death threats, it's such a family tradition.

''Don't blame them when the only one you haven't threatened so far is your daughter.''

I gasped. ''I would never, Rebekah,'' I smiled at her, a little surprised because as one of the bridesmaids, she should be with the bride, although Thana scares all the bridesmaids a little with her lack of nerve, ''you look beautiful.''

''Thanks, Nik, you're not bad either,'' she smiled. ''And now that we're on the subject of your daughter...''

''What happened now?''

''She made our older siblings play hide-and-seek with her and they haven't found her yet...''

''How long ago?''

''About an hour ago...''

''Rebekah,'' I sighed, ''you only have one thing to worry about, and that's making sure our honorary flower girl doesn't get lost during the day, and yet you've already managed to lose sight of her.''
