❝HEADLIGHTS PASS THE WINDOW PANE❞

TAYLOR SWIFT, I WISH YOU WOULD

The rest of Lorelei's day was spent sticking to her training schedule and an awful dinner that consisted of cauliflower crust pizza made by none other than Dick Grayson himself. The food was revolting and not to discredit Dick's attempt at giving them healthy food, but the young mage struggled to eat it.

If it weren't for his proud grin at his work, Lorelei would have spat out her first bite. But she felt bad, eating away at the food that should never be made again. Jason was, clearly, the better cook between the Wayne adoptee's.

After her unsatisfactory dinner, the young mage was rudely interrupted by any plans of fun when lights swirled around the Tower. Her interest redirected, looking out a nearby window to see what was happening. A helicopter could be vaguely seen in nearby skies.

Following the helicopter from within the building, Lorelei rushed to the main parts of the Tower. Before she knew it, everyone was sitting and gathered around the television with the news blaring on the screen.

What was once a police car chase on streets, resulted in the stolen vehicle being abandoned on an exposed part of a high rise parking building. The young woman, who Lorelei could only assume was around her own age, immediately took to fighting the nearby police.

"Who the hell is that?" Rachel asked as everyone watched the girl - who Lorelei could now see had silver hair - skillfully fight against the police.

"A total badass." Jason remarked, earning an eye roll from Lorelei before the young mage frowned at herself.

Of course Jason would think so. He liked kicking police's asses, even if it landed him in trouble. A girl showing off her skills to the police? Of course he would be impressed.

Lorelei was annoyed; he was most likely thinking with the wrong head. Whatever was happening wasn't the usual crime you would see. A stolen vehicle, fighting the cops, an injured eye - thanks to the close up on her face and a bloodied bandage resting over one of her eyes - all added up to something.

The young mage could bet that something wasn't good.

Rachel nudged Lorelei's foot, gaining her attention momentarily to see the look her friend was giving her. A look of 'I saw that face you pulled'. The young mage gently shook her head, a silent signal to not read into her expression.

It was no surprise to the violet eyed mage that Rachel pointed out her look. It had become an occasional discussion between the two sisterly friends. The purple haired girl was still distantly insisting that if Lorelei had anything unsaid to be left unsaid, that it would be okay and it could be left unsaid between them safely and secretly.

No matter the amount of times she persisted there was nothing, Rachel couldn't be convinced.

Without missing a beat, the silver haired girl looked away from the helicopter camera and to the police. She was seconds from being arrested, or killing the cop she held down. Dropping the policeman she held, the young girl immediately took into a sprint, running along the car she had stolen before jumping.

"I'll be back." Dick said with a rush out of the room once the girl jumped from the exposed parking roof, landing with little grace into a glass window across the street.

Whoever she was, she was insane. Who jumped seven stories just to avoid getting arrested?

"Where do you think he's going?" Garfield asked as the police moved onto a smaller, more tame, story.
