❝HOPING THAT YOU'D FIGURE IT OUT BECAUSE I COULD NEVER TELL IT
STRAIGHT TO YOUR FACE❞
CHARLIE PUTH, KISS ME BEFORE I FUCKING LOSE MY MIND
For the past few days, there hadn't been a sighting or hint to Deathstroke; the man of assassinations had become nothing in the life of Rose Wilson. Which brought a huge relief to Lorelei in that aspect. The silver haired girl was due to leave Gotham in a day or two, venturing into the wide world herself and leaving the pair alone.
That is what brought Lorelei relief.
As for Archmage, he also hadn't been around. Lorleei had been here once before, in a similar position four years ago. On the run from her Archmage, looking behind her back unwavering with every turn she took. Being scared about everything around her.
It was all so familiar; a familiarity she wished she had remained sheltered from.
This time was different, though. She was no longer alone, finding new abandoned and shitty places to live in or clawing her way through the library job she somehow scored. A miracle that job had become for her stomach and malnourished body.
No, this time Lorelei was not alone. She had Jason. It made the mess far more complicated, then came along whatever her feelings for Jason had become. But it was worth it to keep the young Robin alive.
Though it made her nervous. Jason had become a weakness to her and if Archmage had been looking closely enough, he would know that. The linking spell could only do so much to reassure Lorelei with the inability to know what to expect. She had thought that by now he would have made an appearance.
But there had been nothing. Only a radio silence that felt deafeningly loud.
Lorelei's mind had been more preoccupied than normal, lately. Even now, as she stood watching Jason cook, she couldn't bring herself to be fully present in the moment. This situation was driving her crazy.
Her mind kept wandering over to the question of how the fuck she will manage to get herself out of this mess again. She knew, deep down, they could only run for so long and killing an immortal was impossible. If she didn't get a plan soon, the hole of this disarray could only grow deeper with no mud left lying around.
"My princess, I have an extremely important question." Jason chimed, bringing the young mage to raise her eyebrow with her brain zoning back to the present. The young Robin dropped to one knee, a nervous smile forming on his lips. "Will you... Will you finally try my chilli dog?"
Looking down to the tray of chilli dogs, the ice blonde mage let out a small chuckle at his display of silliness. His favourite food rested on the tray, a row of five chilli dogs looking deliciously inviting as Rose walked into the room with the smell of food lacing the floor.
"I would be honoured." Lorelei smiled, taking a chilli dog from the tray. Jason stood, his smiling growing as the young mage took a bite. Her eyes widened as the burst of flavour hit her tongue, sending an enthusiastic nod to Jason. "Holy shit, Jay."
"Told you." The noir haired boy smugly said, offering Rose a chilli dog before digging into his own.
The trio remained quiet as they ate the food, Lorelei's mind fully focused on the creation. Jason's ability to cook will forever be a shock to the young mage, an unexpecting craft he has somehow mastered. At least, with everything he has made her.
