❝AND, NO

PLEASE DON'T GO

PLEASE DON'T GO

AND LEAVE ME ALONE❞

MEGHAN TRAINOR, AFTER YOU

The ice blonde mage effortlessly within her projected body. Lorelei had been astral travelling to Jason for a little over an hour now, their time spent within the Batcave and monitoring the gloomy city while they talked about everything - anything.

She really had been trying to visit the noir haired boy more. Just the sight of his spiked hair was enough to wash relief over Lorelei. Linking spell or not, she couldn't deny the comfort in seeing him breathe. And it wasn't one sided, Jason couldn't hide the sighs and his shoulders relaxing whenever she invaded his surroundings.

It had been proven less easier to find the time to visit Jason as time passed. Between her studies and Archmage alone, it was difficult. Now she had public appearances and the responsibilities of being a princess piling up with the preparation to becoming Queen - and it wasn't like she could refuse - piling up.

Including shitty parties with high society she really hated attending. Suddenly, on those nights, she suddenly felt under the weather and if that failed, she would hide in the sidelines.

There were, unfortunately, only so many hours in a day; time was limited enough, time available to astral travel was far more restricted. It was a finite line of isolation bound to a castle by her father.

Regardless, she still visited every two weeks. Even if that resulted in waking Jason up in the middle of the night - because somehow, and he won't share the details, he got his suit privileges revoked - for a twenty minute conversation before Lorelei felt too guilty for waking his sleepy self up.

Her letters were still as endless, her diary had become a thing of the past and replaced with her notes to the young Robin. She liked to think it made a difference, that each night he enjoyed the recapping of her day; even if it was something as boring as lessons.

Things weren't perfect but they were getting through this. That's all that mattered. Even if that meant avoiding talking about certain things neither of them had the stomach to bring up.

"I'm not gonna let you go for weeks when you get back." Jason said with the lean back into his seat. The signals remained the same as Lorelei watched over his shoulder, the Batcomputer watching over the city with Wayne Tech specials.

"I'm right here." The young mage noted, her eyes not leaving the screen until Jason swirled the seat towards Lorelei. A careful step back came with the twirling, an instinct move to avoid any contact with the physical word.

The dark haired boy shook his head at her words, the courage to speak one of those unspoken words scratching his throat. "I can't hold you, it makes all the difference." He said, the words going against his better judgement.

Lorelei's painted red lips fell to a frown. The reminder that, despite the temporary fixation, this was her reality - one that was shared, a carefully crafted interlocking of feelings and souls.

"Six months, Jaybird, halfway there." She rushed to say, the familiar reassurances becoming verbalised. The young Robin stared down, lips holding tightly together as he breathed a sigh. "When we get there, I think we should schedule in extra movie nights so I can catch up on the good new releases, and we'll find a way to convince Bruce."
