❝IS THIS ALL WE GET?
ONE SHORT LIFE❞
MEGHAN TRAINOR, AFTER YOU
"I swear to God, Gar, if you were trying to wake me up with some fucking crisis happening I'm gonna commit crimes." Lorelei grumbled when she returned to her body. Garfield was shaking her body, his hands quickly coming away from her frame as she threw a tired glare his way.
The green haired boy let out a sheepish smile against her claims. It had only been twice, the awakening of Lorelei by Garfield that led to something more than distressing happen. Ironically, both related to Jason. Twice was a coincidence, three times was a repeated joke nobody found humouring.
"Sorry, I just wanted to see if you were okay." He admitted, a wash of relief settling within Lorelei with the confirmation. No crimes to be committed today. By Lorelei, at least.
"Yeah, everything's a paradise." She snorted, sitting up as Garfield walked towards the clock, setting the arms to the specific time to unlock the door.
"Have you seen Hank?" He asked, motioning for Lorelei to follow with his head.
The ice blonde mage shook her head, closing the clock behind her as they began the path down to the cave. "I wasn't actually sleeping, I was astral projecting so I have no idea what has been going on here."
"Nobody else can find him either apparently."
"Probably went to cool off. He's not exactly on my best side right now so I'm afraid I'm not of much help." Lorelei shrugged, the lack of care to find Hank and confront his claims of sending Jason back to the grave overcoming any worry she held for the older Titan. "What're we doing down here?"
"I'm gonna try leaving Bruce a voicemail." Garfield admitted as they walked closer to the computer area of the Batcave.
Jason's Robin suit stood within the display case, the colours screaming and taunting Lorelei to look at them. She still couldn't. Alive or not, Jason went through a painful death. Any reminder of that, of the pain she felt with his final moments of life, was an unwanted thorn lodged into her side. The nightmares were enough, a visual of the damage his suit took was a piece that can remain within her imagination.
Lorelei let out a small snort at Garfield's plan, the idea pitiful and a waste of time. "Good luck with that. If he doesn't want you finding him he becomes a ghost."
"I have to do something, I mean- this is Jason we're talking about. Alive? Bruce needs to be here." The green haired boy sighed as he sat on the chair facing the computer screens.
"I get it, I do, but personally I'd rather not see Bruce right now." She said, leaning against the desk. Selfishly, the Titans could do this without Batman. That was a face Lorelei couldn't face right now. The disappointment, the hurt, the anger. She felt it all. He saved her from Scarecrow just to use him - his brain? Pay him with drugs?
Bruce knew what Crane had done to Lorelei. He recruited her as a protégé because of it. Lorelei felt betrayed by the man who held his morals close to his heart - what happened to those morals now? Gone. Discarded to the side. Working - no, paying the enemy. Murder.
"Is anyone on your good side?"
"You, Rachel, Krypto, somewhat Kory and Dawn, maybe Conner but I don't really know him." She listed, shrugging against the realisation there weren't that many vigilantes she was mad with. Bruce, Dick, and Hank. It was a short list, really.
