This one's Quite long, ENJOY and do Vote!

Your body decided to wake up from its slumber even though it was still dark outside. Craning your neck towards the clock on your bedside table, you couldn't believe it was only a few minutes past 10. You recalled that being the time you were going out for the weekend when you were younger, but when you and your husband were raising a 3 year old who went to bed promptly at 7:30 each night, it was hard to not follow her.

You tossed around underneath the covers only to find Harry missing from next to you, the comforter on his side tucked in as if he wanted to conceal your warmth while he was away. There wasn't a light underneath the bathroom door, or from the walk in closet you shared. His other option was to be downstairs either in the kitchen or the living room. While it usually wouldn't have been a problem with his late night cravings or cup of tea after restlessness, it still worried you to not have him next to you.

You moved back to your original position to turn on your lamp, coincidentally looking down towards the baby monitor. Where your little girl should have been sleeping soundly was an empty bed with covers thrown back carelessly. You knew the other members of your family were up to no good.

Still, curiosity got the best of you. You didn't really want to leave the warmth of your bed and debated on staying, knowing both of them would eventually find their ways back to sleep. However, the sound of pots and pans clattering against each other and a loud "shh, dadda!" were all the more reasons to get up and go find them.

Your footsteps were eerily quiet against the creak in the floorboards and your slipper clad feet as you peeked around the corner. Low and behold, Harry and your little one at the counter in the middle of the kitchen, sharing sweet smiles and giggles. Just about every baking ingredient was scattered around. You couldn't believe how the two of them could paint such a scene.

Their voices were quiet and a big contrast to what you had heard upstairs. You'd figure something more wild was going on between them, but it seemed like they were just baking. Your little girl stood sleepy eyed on top of a chair, close to your husband so she didn't fall. The dinosaur pajama set she put on before bed was already disheveled. Harry looked just as tired, hair going up in all directions with a pair of sweatpants and a white t-shirt on his body. Her little fingers dug into the glass cookie jar of various cookie cutters, ranging from all of her favorite animals to holiday shapes. She laid them out carefully on display while her father asked her to name each and helped her decide which ones to use.

You had seen enough to know it was way past everyone's bed time and decided to make your appearance known, popping out from behind the corner with hands on your hips.

"Well, well, well..."

The sound of your voice and being caught made both of them look up like deer caught in headlights. You had to restrain your laugh at how similar they looked, not much being different besides your daughter's doe eyes staring at you and the skin around Harry's eyes showing of age. Her hand froze in the air, holding what you presumed to be a cookie cutter in the shape of a cat. Harry also remained still because he knew he had a lot of explaining to do.

"Hi, mama," your little one lisped out quietly to break the silence. Clearly your husband wasn't going to.

"What are you two doing?"

Your voice seemed to bring Harry back to reality as he blinked a few times, then showcased you a charming smile. "Um, making cookies?"

You sighed and dropped your arms. "It's past 10."
