Jonathan's arm draped over Gabrielle's shoulders as the two of them doubled over in laughter. All of thirty-two of Gabrielle's teeth were visible to Taylor, and all that she could do was roll her eyes. Her eyes rolled so far back into her head that her head begin to hurt. She watched attentively as the two of the rode the elevator. Gabrielle laughed hard as if Jonathan was the funniest comedian. He wasn't as funny or amusing as Gabrielle made it seem. Taylor knew that Jonathan wasn't that funny. Her blood boiled more as the seconds went by.
"Carter!" She exclaimed, failing to mask her emotions. Both Jonathan and Gabrielle, along with her everyone else in the office, immediately looked up at her. While Gabrielle and her colleagues were terrified, Jonathan was not. He wore a smirk on his lips, which only pissed Taylor off more. "My office. Now."
Some of the employees Jonathan as her walked to her office, while the other half kept their eyes on Taylor. They watched her watch Jonathan, confused and terrified for him. Taylor closed the office door and stepped away from it to prevent her employees from hearing clearly.
"Are you okay?" Jonathan asked Taylor as she was frowning hard at him.
"Are you serious right now??" Furious beyond words, Taylor asked.
"Serious about what?" Jonathan chuckled, making Taylor even more upset.
"What did we just talk about?"
"Um," Pretending to be confused he said. "we haven't talked about anything, I just got here."
She rolled her eyes hard as she possibly could. "The other night, jackass!"
"What do you mean?" He asked with furrowed eyebrows.
Taylor released a hard breath with a shake of her head. "And now you're playing stupid."
"I'm not playing stupid. However, I am confused."
"In the restroom at the restaurant, we talked about her, and today you walk in with your arm around her, again? Seriously...?" Taylor said and waited for Jonathan respond but he didn't. He just looked at her, knowing that she had more to say.
"So, you are sleeping with her?" Taylor asked. She hated herself for asking this question, especially more than once. She hated that Jonathan left her unsure if he was sleeping with this woman. She hated that it bothered her this much. She was in the strongest of like with Jonathan and she couldn't control how felt and how she reacted to everything involving him. She had zero control and she hated it.
"Why do you keep asking me that?"
"Why do you keep avoiding the question?" With attitude, Taylor fired back, tilting her head a little to the right.
"I'm not avoiding it. I just acknowledged the question."
"Are you?" Taylor pressed.
Jonathan smirked. "Why do you care so much?"
"Are you sleeping with her, Jonathan? My God!" Taylor asked, completely fed up. Jonathan begin to laugh, only pushing her over the edge. She was beyond confused as to why he was acting this way. Why couldn't he just give her a straight answer? Why did he even walk in with Gabrielle after the weekend they shared together? Didn't he want her?
"And now you're laughing?" Taylor asked in utter disbelief. The strings of her heart begin to tear apart as she looked at this make a fool of her.
"Because you're getting so worked up over another woman." He replied, continuing to laugh.
"A woman that you know talks so much shit about me and creates all of these rumors, and you're sleeping with her and me? Do you not understand how this makes me feel?"
