"I'm sorry, baby. I'll turn it off." Calvin apologized to Taylor, referring to his vibrating phone. It continuously rang and vibrated, distracting the two of them. It was on do not disturb but his settings allowed calls if called more than once from the same contact. His phone laid face down the table so he had no idea who was texting and calling. He didn't care who was calling, he just wanted to spend the night dancing with his fiancée. They really needed this time free of distractions.

Tonight was supposed to be a romantic night for the engaged couple. They stood chest-to-chest in the middle of their living room under dimmed lights. The lit fireplace gave them a bit of light as well as warmth. Candles were placed around the living room, filling the air with a Vanilla aroma- one of Taylor's favorite. A playlist of their favorite love songs played softly through the bluetooth speaker. Taylor's arms draped over Calvin's shoulder and his wrapped around her waist as they slowly swayed left to right to Kenny Lattimore's "For You". His phone constantly going off took away from it.

"Who is it?" Trying to mask her frustration, Taylor asked. She watched as he sighed as soon as he grabbed his phone from the table.

"My Mom." Dryly, Calvin replied. He rolled his eyes. He loved his mother dearly, but she tends to call at the absolute worst times. Calvin and Taylor would be in the midst of a climax and she would call. They could be having a heated argument and she would call. If Calvin didn't answer, she'd call their home phone or try Taylor's cell phone next. But, for the most part, Calvin always answered his mother's calls.

Taylor sighed. "Answer it." She knew that he wanted to after trying to ignore her and she knew that his mother wouldn't stop calling until she talked to him.

"She probably doesn't want anything." Calvin shrugged his shoulders. "The only person I want to talk to is standing in front of me."

She smiled softly. "That's sweet, baby, but don't ignore your mom for me. Answer it, it's fine." It wasn't fine. She really wanted him to turn his phone off like she did to avoid being distracted or interrupted. Whoever needed to talk to her could call their house phone if needed. But she couldn't she agree on ignoring his mother. It could be an emergency for all she knew.

"Well, geez, I didn't know that I had to call my son seven times in order for him to answer." Calvin's mother sarcastically said before he could even greet her.

"I'm sorry, Mama. I'm a little busy right now."

"A little busy doing what? You can never too busy for the giver of life." She boasted.

"I'm with my Wife, Ma." He chuckled. Taylor smiled. They weren't married yet, but it made her happy to be referred to as his wife. It felt like they were already married but hearing wife made it seem more real.

"That's why you didn't answer the first time I called?" She questioned with a hint of disgust.

"What? We're not..having sex, Ma." Calvin hesitated and Taylor sat Indian style on the couch. She knew that it would be a while before she would have her man's attention again.

"Oh, good. I'm glad that I didn't interrupt anything. And, she is not your wife yet. You two haven't even started planning for the wedding- which I don't understand."

"Mama, was there something that you needed?" Calvin asked, trying to end the conversation to get back to Taylor. He was trying not to allow his mother to interrupt them like she has. He knew that Taylor hated it, so he put forth the effort for a change.

"Yes!!" She exclaimed. "It's supposed to be a secret, but I can no longer hold it in! Your grandparents are coming to spend Christmas and New Years with us!!"
