"Ms. Anderson, your mother is here to see you." Taylor's assistant, Brandon, informed her as she came waddling down from the conference room. Her eyes widened in shock, trying to catch her breath. The beat of her heart begin to speed up. She hadn't seen or spoken to her mother since they had brunch. The day she was supposed to tell her about the relationship with Jonathan and their pregnancy. Now, with her due date in just six weeks, she didn't even have to say a word. She would just have to finally have the conversation she's been avoiding and dreading. Her brows quickly furrowed in confusion. She had no idea what brought her mother to the office. For a brief moment, she thought of all the possibilities. With her mother, there was no telling.

"Where is she?" Taylor asked him, wincing a bit. She held the bottom of her stomach, where Noah constantly kicked. It seemed like he had been moving and kicking nonstop since last night. She was annoyed and more than ready to give birth. It was getting tiring and a tad bit frustrating carrying this baby. Her belly was heavy, and she couldn't see her feet anymore.

"In your office- I hope that's okay?" Brandon questioned, afraid of her being upset with him for doing the wrong things. The further into the pregnancy she got, the more she fussed at him and the rest of her employees- Jonathan included. Taylor figured that her snappy attitude was because she truly didn't want to work at this point in her pregnancy. Or at all for that matter. She remembered having a conversation with Tiffany about stepping away and finally enjoying the fruits of her labor. And now those exact words made so much sense. It was to enjoy all of her hard work and relax for the rest of her life. Enjoy being a mother and eventually a wife.

"It's fine." Taylor said before opening her office door. Her mother was sitting on her couch, waiting for her. Tina's eyes narrowed at Taylor's belly, freezing her in her tracks. She knew that her mother was pissed, but she wasn't sure what was going to come out of her mouth. Her heart begin to beat faster the longer she looked at her mother's scowl.

"Close the door." Tina commanded, making Taylor feel like a child in trouble.

"I have to pee." Taylor said barely above a whisper, closing her office door. She scurried to the bathroom, still holding the bottom of her belly.

"Baby is pushing up against that bladder." Tina commented, but Taylor ignored it. There was nothing that she could really say in response. After using the toilet for what seemed like the twentieth time today, she looked herself in the mirror. She tried to pull herself together. She took deep breaths to try to regulate her heartbeat. It wasn't long before she emerged from the bathroom and took a seat next to her mother.

Tina immediately noticed the huge halo diamond ring on her finger. She gently grabbed her hand to get a better look. It was beautiful, but she wasn't going to compliment it. Not yet anyway. "Not only are you pregnant, but you're engaged, too? Does your Daddy know?" Letting her hand go, she asked.

"No. This literally just happened a few nights ago. I wanted to tell you, Ma." Sincerely, Taylor told her. She truly wanted to have a loving and open relationship with her mother. Like she did with her father, which was impossible considering the fact that her parents were complete opposites.

"When were you going to? When you gave birth??" Tina asked aggressively.

"I don't know," Taylor shrugged her shoulders, still feeling like a child in trouble. "but I was going to tell you at some point."

"At some point?!" Angry and utterly confused, Tina asked. "You're thirty-two weeks along! What the hell do you mean at some point, Taylor?"

"I can't tell if you're mad because I'm pregnant or because I didn't tell you?" Taylor frowned, causing her mother to sigh. Tina couldn't even be upset at that line of questioning. She often times made rude comments about her daughter's want to have children. She understood where the confusion and frustration came from. In this moment, it made her feel even worse.
