"So, we have finally completed the guest list, we can start looking for venues-" Miranda said to her clients, Taylor and Calvin, referring to their upcoming wedding. Calvin was serious when he told Taylor that he was ready to marry her- if she were ready to marry him. And she was. She was ready to step into her gown with the long train and walk down the aisle to stand beside him. She was ready to confess her love.
The first day into the New Year, Taylor and Calvin discussed their wants and requests for the big day! The more they talked about it, the more ready they became. They chose to have a Spring wedding because they were anxious to say I do. Calvin reached out to Miranda and she agreed to take them on. For the past three weeks, they had been busy planning their wedding.
"Oh, no." Calvin said with a shake of his head. "We're having the ceremony in a church."
"Oh." Miranda replied, completely confused. She look at Taylor then back at Calvin. "Tay told me that the church was out of the question."
Calvin turned to Taylor with furrowed eyebrows. "Why?" He asked.
"Because, babe, why would we get married in a church? A church that we don't even go to." She politely reminded.
"My Mom wants-" Calvin started but paused when Taylor rolled her eyebrows. She appreciated the love and the respect he held for his mother but she was beyond fed up with her constantly being a part of their relationship. Whether it was convincing him to stay home during the holidays, giving her unsolicited advice, or just butting in their personal and private conversations. The last thing Taylor was going to allow was his mother trying to plan their wedding. This day would be about her and her man. No one's wants and opinions mattered.
"Your mom isn't in this relationship, babe." She told him, not even trying to be respectful. She didn't care to mask her frustration. "She doesn't have a say in this wedding. I'm sorry."
"It's not just my Mom. It's my Grandparents- my entire family. Everyone that is married had their weddings in church-"
"So, we're following a tradition, even though we're not religious?" Taylor asked as she frowned.
"What do you want to do, babe?" She asked him. If Calvin truly wanted to have their wedding in a church, then she wouldn't care.
"I think a venue wedding is more us. We can do so much more." Calvin stated the obvious.
"So, venue?" Miranda asked for clarification.
"Yes." Taylor answered.
"Have we decided on the DJ yet?" Miranda asked looking between the two.
"DJ?" Calvin questioned as looked at Taylor. "I thought we were having a band?"
"I changed my mind." Taylor shrugged her shoulders.
"Really? Why? The band would be cool."
"When I'm walking down the aisle, yes, but not for the reception, babe. That's boring."
"Did you just call me boring?" Calvin chuckled.
"I love you, though." Taylor leaned over to quickly kiss his lips.
"I love you, too. I still want the band."
"You'll get the band, when we're walking down the aisle and stuff-"
"Speaking of," Miranda interjected. "you're still walking down to Why I Love You? You still want Major?"
"Yes." They answered in unison.
"Dancing to The Point Of It All, Anthony Hamilton." Taylor added.
"Alright. They've both agreed to sing for you, but if you happen to change your mind, let me know."
