"Hello?" Taylor answered Jonathan's call after the first ring.
"Are we ever going to talk about it?" Jonathan asked for what seemed like the millionth time since, causing Taylor to roll her eyes. He's been asking her the same exact question since he woke up in her bed the morning after the music festival. That night, they had the best sex they've ever had in their lives.
Each time Jonathan asked to talk about it, she had a flashback. She instantly saw herself on top of him, watching him look into her eyes as he erupted inside of her. Jonathan took a deep breath, with a slight arch in his back- it was the best feeling he's ever felt. Taylor loved that she possessed the power and ability to make him react the way he did. However, she had to be smart and careful about the situation. Just like in Miami, she took a plan b pill.
Jonathan didn't know what that night meant because she acted as if it never happened. For the first since he met her, Taylor was unreadable. Every time he asked a question about it she found a way to dance around it or just completely ignore him.
"I was drunk, Carter. Okay?" Taylor finally answered. "Why do we need to talk about that? Why do you insist on talking about that?"
"Because it was more than that." Jonathan told her. "Don't tell me that you were drunk because we've been here before. This is what you want. Why are you running from it?"
"Can you drop it?"
"Why can't you just talk to me and tell me? Why are you running from this?"
"I have the deepest feelings for you. They're so deep, I don't even think it's simply feelings at this point. I've felt this way for a while. But I'm scared! I'm terrified. Okay? Yes, I want to give you another chance but I'm scared out of my mind! You've already hurt me once and we hadn't even established a relationship yet. It was stupid and childish. I've forgiven you but that doesn't take away my fear."
"I'm not going to hurt you." Jonathan pleaded, trying to convince her.
"Make sure you're at your house in fifteen minutes." Taylor said before ending the call. She kept her word and helped Jonathan find a home. She tagged along with Jonathan and her real estate agent, looking at each home. Jonathan made his choice based on his daughters. He knew they'd like whichever house he picked because anything would be better than their run down apartment. So, he made a decision based on the schools in each area. Taylor followed through with the interior decorating. She decorated each room. Of course Serenity and Joy's room were the best parts- it took a week to finish their rooms.
"Ms. Tay, I love my new room!" Serenity exclaimed as she jumped up and down. Her bedroom had a soccer theme with a soccer field rug covering every inch of her room. From a black and white soccer converter to the soccer jerseys of her favorite players hanging on the wall of fame. Her closet was a gym locker- that was her favorite. She even had a goal post and a ball to practice! While Joy had a jungle safari! Her walls painted with trees, elephants, monkeys, lions, antelopes, zebras and giraffes. She had the large stuffed animals. Land Rover Defender made into bunkbeds. They absolutely loved their rooms!
"Thank you!" Serenity wrapped her arms around Taylor's legs.
"You're welcome, sweetie!" Taylor smiled as she rubbed her back. She didn't feel like she actually did any real thinking with their bedrooms. It was quite easy. She already knew their personalities and what they liked. She looked around the room, thinking of how much she couldn't wait to do this for her own babies, some day.
Both Taylor and Jonathan left Serenity to enjoy herself with her bedroom and toys. They had so much more work to do with the rest of the house- inside and out. While Joy and Serenity's bedrooms were completed last night, the rest of the house was not. Furniture companies would be coming one after the other! Taylor wanted to get it all done and over right away. She knew that Jonathan would appreciate having a newly furnished home.
