When Loki sat back down on the chair at the side of your bed, you really had a chance to take in your surroundings and actually think about the situation you were in. You tried to recall exactly what had happened between the morning and now but it was a little hazy. The added drowsiness thanks to the morphine wasn't making anything better. You vaguely remembered going on the mission and confronting Scar. Gasping, you remembered that you killed Scar, you killed your dad.

"What's the matter love, you look lost in thought?" Loki asked as he held your hand.

"Nothing, I'm great." You lied with a fake smile "Can you make sure the others know I'm alright please?" You asked, wanting to just be alone for a few moments to gather your thoughts.

"I'm sure the sorcerer or the green beast has told them already." He assured.

"Loki!" You scolded.

"Fine, Strange and the Hulk." He corrected.

"Stephen and Bruce. Can you go and get Seven then?"

"She's already here." Natasha said as she walked into the room.

"Mummmyyyy" Seven cheered as she ran towards you.

"Hey baby" you smiled as Loki picked her up and sat her on his lap.

"Glad you're okay." Natasha nodded "I'll leave you guys alone for a while." She said as she turned away.

"Wait Nat." You called after her "come here" you grinned as you slightly sat up and opened your arms. "It's like that time in London." You whispered in her ear as she hugged you.

"Ahh London, we've had some good times Y/n." She smiled.

"Remember Paris" you added.

"I remember a raunchy game of strip poker." She chuckled.

"Oh and remember Budapest." You winked.

"How could I forget?" She teased as she stepped back and puckered her lips.

"Well I think we've done enough reminiscing." Loki interrupted.

"I'll see you later y/n." Natasha waved "By princess, later Loki."

"Goodbye widow" he waved as she left.

"Loki, stop calling her that." You whisper shouted.

"It's her name" he shrugged.

"You know that's not her name. She's getting married soon, surely calling her widow isn't good." You warned.

"How's the pain?" Loki asked.

"Well, I'm so high right now that I'm actually starting to find you attractive." You joked.

"I am attractive." He deadpanned.

"Can you read me something?" You suggested.

"I am attractive." He repeated.

"And I'll find you so much more attractive if you read to me." You laughed. "Come here Sev." You said, opening your arms before Loki helped her into the bed. "You're really attractive and I love you" you mumbled when Loki leant over you causing him to smile. "Stop smiling like that you're gonna freak everyone out." You chuckled.

"What do my girls want me to read?" He asked, sitting back down, crossing one leg over the other.

"What would you like Sev?" You prompted as you looked at her.

"Otlo" she replied shyly.

"What?" You tittered.

"I think she means Othello" Loki interrupted.

"Othello? Loki, why isn't my 5 year old asking you to read her the very hungry caterpillar?" You snorted.

"Because I'm her dad." He beamed as he leant over and kissed her on the forehead before conjuring the book.
Loki began reading whilst you and Seven listened. Things slowly started coming back to you as you found yourself getting lost to the void that was your dazed and dark mind. You had actually killed your dad. You kept trying to remind yourself that he would have killed you or worse, come after your family. He had attempted your demise before, there was no saying he wouldn't have done it again but you remember laying in bed whilst your dad read to you. Him kissing you on the forehead before leaving. Him taking you to the park. How could it have all been fake? Clearly he didn't love you or he wouldn't have done all of that. Heck, he was the reason you were currently laying here. No, he didn't love you. It was all a lie.

You didn't feel yourself drift off but the next time you woke up, Seven was gone and it was just you and Loki. You looked at him and saw that he had his eyes closed as he slouched slightly in the chair. You didn't want to wake him but surely he wasn't comfortable. You were about to call his name until you heard him quietly muttering in his sleep. Listening, you could make out the word "mother" and it instantly brought you back to your near death.

"Loki" you whispered which managed to wake him up as he opened his eyes and blinked all traces of sleep away.

"Y/n, what's wrong? Is everything alright?" He questioned.

"Earlier on, when I was on the brink of death, I met someone" you began as Loki furrowed his brows. "It was your mother, she spoke to me. She told me to tell you how much she loves you and that she comes to you when you call her." You continued as Loki looked at you in awe, tears brimming in his eyes.

"You spoke to my mother?" he uttered.

"Yes, she sees you Loki, she's seen us all including Seven." You nodded.

Loki tried to quickly wipe away the few escaped tears as you patted the space next to you. Standing up, he walked to the bed before laying down, facing you.

"I cannot thank you enough" he smiled before kissing you. You kissed him back as you moved his hair from his face. His lips softly brushed yours as he moved closer to you. His tongue traced your bottom lip, asking for entrance which you granted. Your tongues danced together as you tried to get closer to him, forgetting about your leg. Pulling away, you let out a pained sigh.

"I'm sorry, are you alright? Should I get Strange?" He asked frantically.

"I'm fine" you assured before you kissed him again.
