Going back from where we started. The questions about me might even much more than it was before. More about the narrator.

I would also want to know more about you. Where you come from?
Do I know you?

Well at least I know that your human as you can read from the convenience of your mobile or laptop. Or perhaps your an alien doing research.

Whatever it is, interdimensional travel is all about looking at the possibilities and the consequences, short term and long term. And different choices may lead to different ends.

There was a famous person who once said all paths crooked or straight lead to thee. Thee, meaning the almighty or the ultimate consciousness. Meaning the paths we travel, our karma, our duties and responsibilities,  lead to our union with to ultimate consciousness in birth or death.

Demark did not know in what to believe exactly. Was there rebirth or heaven and hell? Was heaven just a place for the gods? Or did people for following the path of God get rewarded to stay in heaven?

As Demark looked deeply into the dark and felt as if time was flowing slowly. The laughter of the priest and the rush of the monstrosities, the beasts all in slow motion.

Demark decided he had to take a chance and go through the portal otherwise he wouldn't stand a chance. The pull of the portal was so strong it made Demark consternated how the priest and the monstrosities didn't seem to be affected at all. Anyway he decided in that split second to let go and leave everything to chance. To take a leap, at least metaphorically.

It's one thing to be so sure and confident of the decision you make, and another to have a mind filled with a dilemma. If he had a second choice he most likely would have chosen his family, his near and dear.

But it seemed to have a chance to see his family's faces again he would have to let go, to compromise and hope for the best as there was no chance he could match the monstrosities in pace and strength.

So he decided to surrender and go through the portal. He felt himself fading both physically and emotionally and for once in his lifetime he felt whole.

At once he saw that he was in a jungle and could see the sun clearly above the surface. When he looked around in the beginning all he saw was green. Green leaves dominated his sight.

At least he was alone.

And remember being along was his comfort zone.

He was supposed to be hungry. But fortunately it seemed he didn't need an appetite at this place beyond the portal. He recalled seeing the chasing yellow monstrosities and the escape made possible by the sucking portals. What a day it had been!

He started to move around. The place reminded him of his village and as mentioned previously of his favourite destination of solitude.

As Demark started to look around, and observe keenly with his eyes and listen deeply with his ears. He soon found out that he was alone in this place.

He felt calm and relaxed, at least for the moment. He layed down in grass thanking nature for keeping himself alive.

He wasn't hungry or cold. The climate was very suitable to live in. He started looking at the wide sky with few clouds. It wouldn't be raining soon. Demark thought.

He just stayed there looking at the clouds drift slowly by. He took deep breaths full of oxygen. He missed the sound of birds though. He missed the feeling of danger and the feeling of being alive.

When he acknowledged his feelings he knew that though he might have all the possible things in the world, that is no hunger, no need for shelter, he stilled deeply wanted a way to go back. Basically he was  fulfilled, at least his basic desires were but his purpose was in another direction, something he would sacrifice even the comforts of his life for.

Comfort and ease has its own attraction Demark thought. The sun was slowly going down. And as twilight came, he made a firm resolution that he would search and find a way to return, starting from next morning. Then he dozed off.

He was running and running. Not a clue of his destination. Just running for the sake of running. He didn't know what for or why. He didn't know what he was running from. Running seemed somewhat like eternity.

Then he saw something.

Something glittering in the sun in the middle of the forest. He stopped and pondered in consternation. Was this what he was running for?

It was blue like the sapphire. And it was huge like an obelisk stone.

A strong urge came to Demark. The urge was to carry the stone back home. Then he suddenly thought he couldn't return home, didn't know how he could return home.

At least yet.

Then he woke up. He saw the sun rising from the east, indicating that the sun was just rising. At least some natural laws were followed here.

The grass was green and so was the forest. He decided he would have to search the place to find any clues about place.

He always carried a compass. He checked his pockets to see whether he had it or not. A sigh of relief came when he discovered that hadn't forgotten to bring it. Navigating through a dense jungle would be much easier. At least he would not be going around in circles.

He looked at forest. The lush green forest would capture anyone's heart. Unlucky to see no moving living species was here to enjoy it. For a minute or so he felt lucky for being here and being the only animal to be alive in such a world. He closed his eyes and for a minute breathed deeply in and out, after which he felt he was somewhat back home again.
