What about those people who lived in Lyson itself? Seeing and feeling go together. People were educated for national security. People were educated for understanding facilities and security comes at a cost. People were educated that a roof over the head came from different policies allowing Lyson to trade freely and construct effortlessly.
Lyson needed to be understood by its denizens because Lysons resources were always eyes up by other countries' denizens.
"We have had peace for over a century." Said one of its students learning about Lyson. She was responding to the teachers lectures. "Can't we all live in peace."
"You should start with having inner peace, Ann." Replied the teacher. And the whole class laughed.
Ann was a very smart girl. She liked to debate and argue on those subjects which she considered were important. Straight A student however she lacked admiration from her peers. But she felt OK even though she was criticised for being critical. She believed in what Kant said that thesis and anti thesis go together to create reality.
She also had her own perspective on morals. What was right and wrong came from debating with herself. She had different goals. But right now she wanted to pass the exam so that she could be a master of her subjects. The subject which was her major was political philosophy and biology was her minor.
Her favorite part of learning was learning about the meaning of truth and its different interpretations. Also questioning which perspectives were valid.
One interesting thing was whether it would be OK to kill one to save 10. Or would it be OK to kill one to save a thousand.
Such thoughts reverberated through her brain nerves. And the answer didn't come right away.
However she saw different forms of answers that came in the form when she read books and watched TV and listened to the radio, expanding her perspective.
For some tribes, just mere survival seemed to be the ultimate goal. So these tribes would use whatever methods possible to save their brethren. Whether it was sacrificing themselves or direct conflict.
Lyson did well to maintain peace. Therefore she regarded it as a ideal place and argued with anyone who would think the contrary.
Lyson seemed pretty prepared for any possible war. Villages around Lyson would offer their people, girls or boys, to participate in the war. The training they would receive would make them well adapted for different types of weather.
Whether it was cold as the north, or it was hot in the south, whether they had to climb the steepest hills, walk the deserted plains and camouflagued in the forests, the army of lyson would prepare for defense in all possible areas.
Such endeavour would allow the effectiveness and influence of Lyson to increase. Lyson had so far maintained a successful economy such that it could afford expensive military equipments. They also had a group of scientists working for the country day and night to produce the most effective military equipment that allowed them to diversify their tactics and strategies.
And with different strategies would overwhelm the enemy to create different counter strategies. Those counterstrategies would come at a cost.
Ann was very intelligent and had won many debates. She had been labelled as "Lawyer" or "Prosecuter" by her friends. She had a natural need to be accepted by her peers, so whether it was by argument or by comprehension of concepts.
However there was a deeper reason, a deeper desire to get the acceptance of her teachers and friends.
A long time ago, not for me of course, since for time flies by for me in the scale of aeons in what human beings would feel seconds, Ann realised even when she was young that she was not the same race as a typical Lyson citizen. Boys and girls would label her as blonde and yellow yellow dirty fellow. Even teachers who heard these words would laugh silently, some even teased her.
Being a natural part of the group, it was something she missed. When she told her parents about it, her parents made sad faces and hugged her. Later she would understand why she was treated that way.
As she grew older, she would understand about divisions and unity. After she did research, she found out about her family. Her family had migrated from the far north. Her parents had found jobs, due to their intelligence. They did contribute to Lyson science and technology. However in other people's eyes they were seen as intruders, intruding in the employment sector of Lyson and also the political affairs of Lyson.
Therefore she after graduation with distinction from a university, found the importance of what she had, and also the cons of what she had. Things that seemed right and wrong in her childhood, by her knowledge and conscience, seemed gray. She often considered Kant as her hero, for it was he who had taught her the thesis and antithesis.
And just like Bobby Fischer playing chess against himself near swimming pool, she would continuously create theories and counter theories by herself. Those deep thoughts would give an understanding that both types of information is important.
There is a feedback system in nature. When one force dominates, another force comes and decreases the intensity of the initial force.
Just like when you drink water, the brain gets information that there is more water content in the blood, and therefore sends signals to the kidney to not reabsorb water and therefore cause the release of water from the body.
Feedback system could be in the same direction. Or it could be in the opposite direction. The same direction feedback system is very dangerous and kind of cause death.
That is why the feedback system in the opposite direction is important so that it, so that it controls the feedback system in the same direction. For example platelets plug is created with a feedback system in the same direction. However this platelet plug is used to prevent the amount of blood loss from the body i.e is the opposite feedback system of the body.
While Ann searched and thought deeply about the different feedback systems that play in biology and society, the intelligence of Lyson gathered information of a possible war.
