Madison's POV (not Madison beer)

Taylor an I had been dating for what seemed like forever. We started dating at the beginning of middle school and were now in our senior year.

We were both heading off to different colleges and had been arguing a lot. I decided it would be best if we took a break while we are in college... I just don't know how Taylor will take it...

Taylor's POV

I walked into Madison's apartment, not bothering to knock. She wasn't i. The living room. I shrugged and went upstairs toward her room.

I knocked once before opening the door, "Hey, baby girl."

"Hey." She said no emotion in her voice.

Crap... what did I do now?

"What did I do?" I asked sitting at her black desk.

"Nothing."

"One word answers are never a good thing coming from you. What's up?"

"Nothing."

"Bull."

"I'm fine."

"Do you know what fine stands for?"

"Yes."

"What?" I asked. I was entering uncharted territory... This always irritates her...

"Freaking out, insane, neurotic, emotional."

"Right. So what's up." I sat beside her.

"Nothing." She said not making eye contact. Another sign she was lying.

"What happened to no secrets?"

"Gosh Taylor! I'm okay, can we just drop it?"

"Not until you tell me what's up."

"Just thinking."

"About?"

"College."

"Oh..." I absolutely hated it when this topic came up. I always ended up arguing with the most important person in my life.

"Taylor, I don't think I can do the whole long distance thing..."

"Then I'll do online school and come live by you."

"That's not going to be the best option for you. You deserve your best chance."

"I don't want that without you." I said my eyes filling with tears.

"And you think I do? I hate the idea as much as you."

"So what're you saying?"

"I think we need to stop seeing each other. At least until we're both done with schooling."

"So you're saying goodbye?" A tear betrayed me and rolled down my cheek.

"Unfortunately... Yes." Madison had silent tears rolling down her cheeks, not the noisy ones where everyone knew she was crying but the silent ones. Which was more heart breaking.

"If you think it's what's best..." I stood to leave.

"Taylor?"

I turned, "yes?"

"Can I get a goodbye kiss?"

I practically ran to her side. I crashed my lips against hers. She kissed back wrapping her arms around my neck. Our lips moved in sync. I pulled away.

"I'm going to miss that." She whispered.

"I'll wait for you. It'll be waiting."

"And I you."

I pulled away and walked to the door.

"Goodbye Taylor."

"No not goodbye. Goodbye means leaving, and leaving means forgetting. I'll see you later, Madison."

I opened the door and stepped out. I broke down and cried all the way to my car.
