Emily's POV

I stood up from my bed and closed my eyes. I gripped my head board and tried not to fall over. I felt like I was on the tea cup ride at Disney Land. I sat down slowly and grabbed the sides of my head, applying pressure.

My text tone went off. I groaned and reached across my mattress for the small box. 

HAYES: we still on for this morning????

ME: not going to work out today hun. 

HAYES:?????????

ME: i'm dying

HAYES: oh no!! i'm on my way.

ME: no you'll get sick

HAYES: who cares? you can't be alone right now. give me 15

I rolled my eyes and laid back down, careful not to move to quickly. I slowly dozed off and fell into a deep sleep.

Hayes' POV

I grabbed the spare key out from under the mat and let myself in. I punched in the code to the alarm and made my way slowly up the stairs. I opened Emily's room door to find her asleep on her bed.

I smiled sadly as I walked over to her. She was drenched in sweat. I carefully pulled her sweater off and kissed her temples.

I walked back downstairs to get a bowl of cool water and a washcloth. I hummed quietly as I waited for the water to cool off. 

"Hello?" I said into my phone.

"Hey babe." Ava's voice rang through my phone.

"Hey. What's up?"

"I miss you. You have to come back to Austin soon."

I rolled my eyes, "You know I can't. I go where Chad sets me up to go."

"Well convince him. Listen I gotta go."

Emily's POV

"Who were you on the phone with?" I asked as Hayes dabbed my face with a washcloth.

"Brittany."

"Again?"

"She found my number. I gotta go get that changed."

I laughed causing sharp bursts of pain to shoot through my stomach. I sucked in a sharp breath.

"Baby, be careful." Hayes said worry evident in his blue eyes.

"I'm trying."

"Wanna watch a movie?"

I shook my head. 

"Wanna cuddle." 

I grinned sheepishly.

"Well come here then." He pulled me onto his lap. I leaned my head on his chest listening to his hear beat. 

He ran his fingers through my light brown hair. I closed my eyes. 

I fell asleep feeling safe in his arms.
