"Hey, sis." Jack flopped onto my bed.

"What do you want?" I groaned, throwing a pillow at him.

"What I can't just come see my little sister?" He asked running a hand through his dark hair.

I raised a single eyebrow.

"Not buying it?" He laughed.

"You're a lousy liar."

"Some things never change."

"So did you need something or?" I asked my sass coming through.

"Can I borrow about twenty bucks?"

"Why?"

"So I can go get donuts."

I pretended to consider the reason, "I guess."

"Thanks!" He jumped off my bed and ran out the door.

"Get me a chocolate eclair!" I called.

"Of course!"

I grinned and rolled over trying to fall asleep again.

I woke up again at about noon. I stretched and slid out of bed. I heard Jack laughing. I started listening and heard another very familiar voice.

Shit. Johnson.

I grabbed one of my pairs of high waisted shorts and a floral crop top and ran to the bathroom. I turned on the water and stripped off before jumping in. I closed my eyes attempting to keep the strawberry scented shampoo out of my eyes. I lathered my long brown hair and rinsed off before jumping out.

I wrapped up in the towel and walked back to my room, clothes in hand. I blow dried my hair my natural curls coming through. I applied a little concealer and eyeliner. I hummed 'Aftertaste' as I pulled my chosen outfit on.

I walked around my large bed back to my closet to pick out shoes. I pursed my lips as I ran my fingers along the boxes. I finally decided on a pair of white converse.

"Finally you're awake." Jack teased as I walked down our spiral staircase.

"Shut up." I grinned.

"Your eclair is on the counter."

I ruffled his hair as I walked past earning groans and various other forms of complaint. I rolled my eyes as I bit into the eclair, the cream pouring out. I smiled.

"Good stuff? Johnson asked smiling.

I jumped, "yeah."

"Sorry didn't mean to scare you." He laughed.

"You sound so sorry."

He came closer and leaned over me. My heart sped up.

"Sorry. I probably could've just asked you to pass the water bottle."

My heart slowed down, "Not a big deal."

"You okay? You seen... Anxious."

"Actually there's something I need to tell you."

"Oh. Okay." He set the water bottle down and leaned against the counter.

"I don't know how to say this..."

"Just spit it out." He grinned.

"Here goes nothing. I've had a crush on you for as long as I can remember."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"Lys... I don't really think of you like that. You're my best friend's sister... It just won't work. I'm sorry."

My heart split in two.
