Hayes: meet me at the park in 15

Me: Hayes, it's late

Hayes: mhmm?

Me: my parents will get mad!

Hayes: don't worry, got it figured out

I placed my phone on my night stand and changed out of my pajamas. I pulled on a pair of lace up black skinny jeans and a long sleeve white crop top. I quickly brushed my teeth and long ombré hair before applying a little mascara to bring out my brown eyes. I pulled on some black Toms and ran down the stairs to find my parents watching the game in the couch.

"Have fun, honey!" My mom called as I walked out the door.

*5 minutes later*

I walked up the concrete steps leading to the park. When I got to the top I saw Hayes standing on a red and white checkers blanket facing the large oak tree. I walked behind him not making a single noise. He was wearing a light blue button down with a black tie an dark jeans.

"Boo!" I said wrapping my hands around his waist from behind. Locking my hands on his muscled stomach.

"Ah!" He said in order to amuse me. He kissed my forehead.

"What's all this for?" I asked gesturing to the picnic basket in his hands and the fairy lights in the the tree casting a beautiful glow around the park.

"You."

"Really? Why did you go through all this trouble for me, Hayes?"

"Because you're amazing, and deserve it, Hope."

"Thank you."

"Don't thank me yet... this is only the first part if the date." Hayes sat down and opened up the picnic basket. He pulled out two sandwiches, a Coke, a Pepsi, and a plate full if chocolate covered strawberries.

"Hayes--" I started but he interrupted me.

"Hope, be quiet and sit down."

I grumbled to myself as I sat next to Hayes. We are in silence. Hayes passed me a strawberry and grabbed both my hands and pulled me into a standing position.

"Ready for the second half of the evening?" He asked placing his forehead in mine.

"Should I be worried?" I asked looking into his blue eyes.

"Maybe..." he responded before pecking my lips and pulling me down the side walk.

"Hayes where are we going?" I asked after we had been walking for a while.

"Shh... You'll see. Close your eyes."

"How am I supposed to see if I close my eyes?"

"Hope! Just trust me!"

"Fine..." I closed my eyes and Hayes slowed down slightly. We walked a little farther and I ran into a stone surface.

"Ow! HAYES!" I shrieked in surprise.

"Sorry! Open your eyes."

I obeyed. In front of me was a huge fountain with crystal clear water flying everywhere. My breath caught in my throat.

"Hayes this is beautiful!"

"This isn't even half of it. Lay down and look at the sky."

I laid down and looked at the start sky. I was able to spot the little and Big Dipper almost immediately. Hayes laid down next to me placing his hands behind his head. I moved my head into his chest.

"In 5...4...3...2...1...Now!"

Bright lights flew across the sky. A meteor shower! I had to remind myself to breath.

"Oh my gosh!"

"I love you Hope, will you do me the honors of attending home coming with me?"

"How could I not?"

I kissed Hayes and and we stayed at the fountain watching the stars for hours.
