I laid in bed wondering why I was awake... I had only fallen asleep an hour before. IT WAS MIDNIGHT FOR PETE'S SAKE!! I groaned and rolled over stretching out, to find empty space.

what the? where'd Matt go?

I sat up and waited for my eyes to adjust to the dark room. I leaned my head to the left, listening. I could hear faint mumbling coming from downstairs. I raised a single eyebrow as I stood up opening the door slightly. I made my way down the stairs and stopped when I could Matt clearly.

"Please.. Savannah I love you. Don't leave baby girl." He begged the person on the phone.

I fell against the wall. My heart aching as the realization of who Savannah was clicked in my head.

I ran up the stairs silently and packed my stuff. I couldn't believe Matt. He was just like every other guy. I pulled out a sheet of paper and started scribbling out whatever words came to mind.

Matt. I can't stay here knowing that you don't love me the way I do you. You clearly have feelings for Savannah still, I just can't handle being second choice.
These past few years have truly been amazing. I will always love you. Even if you don't me...
With the best intentions....
Louise

I folded the paper and laid it on Matt's pillow. I turned the light off and made my way out the front door as quietly as I possibly could.

I dialed the first person who came to mind.

"Louise... Why in the world are you calling me at one o'clock in the morning?" Angele's familiar voice rang through the phone.

"Angele.... I need you..." I said as my voice cracked as I tried to not cry.

"I'm on my way." She hung up.

I made my way to the park a little ways down the street and sat on the bench. I placed my head in my hands and let the tears flow.

"Louise?" I heard Hayes' voice.

"Hayes. What're you doing here?" I asked wiping my eyes.

"Couldn't sleep and didn't want to disturb Angele."

"Alright. I'll leave you alone so you can go on your walk." I went to move.

"Hey. It's no big deal. What's wrong?"

I sat back down and opened up. Hayes had always had that kind of personality. I felt like I could tell him anything.

"He doesn't deserve you." Hayes pulled me in for a hug.

Angele came running over, "Louise! I went to Matt's but he was in the living room muttering like some lunatic. Thank goodness I found you."

"Can I crash with you guys?" I asked two of my closest friends.

"For as long as you need." Hayes smiled.

Angele wrapped her arm around my waist as we made our way to her small car.

"Coming Hayes?" She called over her shoulder.

"I'll be home soon. I have to go pay someone a visit."

Angele shrugged and opened my door.

Matt's POV
I stood as a knock sounded on the Mahogany door. I opened it up to reveal Hayes.

"Thank goodness you're here man. I really screwed up."

"Hell yeah you did!"

"Wait. You know?"

"I know damn well what you did! Why would you hurt Louise like that? She doesn't deserve that!" Hayes half yelled.

I slouched at his words. I felt terrible. I loved Louise so much and I never wanted to lose her.

"Help me get her back." I begged.

"No way!"

"Please, I love her. I made a stupid choice. I just... I don't want to lose her."

"You should've thought of that before hurting her." Hayes turned and walked out.

I collapsed on the couch and read the note over and over, my tears hitting the paper making the ink run till it was no longer readable.

*several weeks later*

"You have to get up man." Gilinsky opened up the curtains.

"There's no point anymore." I groaned.

"Damn it." Gilinsky stormed out.

YOUR POV
"Hello?" I answered Gilinsky's call.

"Please come talk to Matt. He hasn't showered or gotten off the couch in weeks."

"Jack. I don't want to."

"Break up with him in person. He just needs to see you. Please?"

"Fine. But I'm doing this so you'll shut up."

"If it works it works."

I hung up and made my way to the car. I got inside and drove to the last place I ever wanted to be.

I opened the door and stepped inside the cold apartment.

"Jack?" I called.

He came running around the corner, "Thank goodness you're here."

"Yeah yeah.." I made my way into the living room.

Matt was laying in a heap on the couch a pillow over his hair. He was still in the same clothes as when I left.

"Don't get to close." Jack warned.

"Matt?" I said quietly.

He sat up. I closed my eyes trying to cry. His eyes were red and swollen from crying.

"Louise. I am so sorry. I am an idiot. I love you and only you. Please..."

"I love you too Matt."

"Please take me back." He begged tears running down his face.

I nodded.

He jumped up and went to hug me.

"Don't come near me until you shower!" I said plugging my nose.

He laughed, "Gosh I missed you."
