Lio didn't remember how he became a Burnish.

One day, he realised he could create flames from his body, and that he could almost heal himself with these flames, as if he was regenerated.

But the moment he became one, he was despised by everyone.

Why did everyone suddenly hate him? He was still the same, the nice, caring Lio Fotia he had always been. The only different thing is that now he could generate flames from his body, that's all.

However, he didn't let his anger took absolute control over him. Over time, he surely started to despise humans, but he certainly was better than them, and decided that he would have not harmed them, or killed them.

He just wanted them to feel the same pain he felt, that pain that makes you feel alone.

But one day, when he was 13 years old, something happened.

He was in a park, in the night. Street lights flickering, not a single bird chipping, the trees smelled nice and the sky was full of stars.

It was a beautiful landscape for Lio. It was breathtaking and relaxing. Lio often went to this park in the night, climbing on a tree and looking at the sky from there, with just the sound of nature in his ears. No one was there, and he could have a moment of peace, all for himself, and breath.

But he didn't expect that a girl would enter in the park in the middle of the night, all alone.

"What a pain" young Lio thought "I hope she doesn't notice me"

She was somehow smaller than him. Long, brown hair and green eyes, with notes of pink and yellow in some points. She looked shy, and unsure about what to do. She looked around herself, almost as if she wanted to do something, but didn't know whether she could do it.

"What is she doing?" Lio thought, annoyed.

And then, she created a flame from her hand.

From annoyed, he became stunned. He was really surprised, and stared at her.

"A Burnish...?"

He thought that she would have set the park on fire, however, she took some papers, and colours, and started drawing, observing now and then her little flame.

Lio quietly observed her, curious about her drawing. He was impressed.

She was the first Burnish he encountered that didn't use her flames to burn the world.

This event kept repeating itself. Lio often came to the park in the night just to observe the little girl draw.

He realised he quite liked observing her while she was drawing. She looked so peaceful, without a care for the world. It was just her, her flame and her drawing sheets. Over time, he started to observe her with just a smile on his face, hearing the gentle sound of pencils rubbing on paper.

He always observed her from a tree, not so far away from her.

One day though, Lio noticed that she wasn't drawing her flame. She was drawing something else. She just used her flame for light, and not as a reference as the other days.

Lio was intrigued by this.

And then, she spoke.

"How about you get down from that tree?"
