Luke's P.O.V
I grabbed my phone and saw that it was 1:30am and everyone was asleep. I heard Riley's mom come in not so long ago, and I just pretending like I was sleeping, but in reality I've just been awake the whole time. I looked over to Riley and saw that she was fast asleep. Her eyebrows were knit together almost as if she was having a bad dream, like she was frowning. Her arm would randomly twitch along with her leg. I adjusted myself on the couch so I was facing her direction.
I felt weird just watching her but who was here to judge me everyone seemed to be asleep. I continued watching her, seeing her chest move up and down because of her heavy breathing. Her eyebrows were still knotted together like she was mad, but it was cute. All of a sudden her leg jerked to the side and that's when I let out a laugh.
"You really like her don't you",said Michael. I spun around to see Michael looking up at me with sleepy eyes. "Huh, what are you talking about",I asked rubbing the back of my neck. "Luke honestly there's no need to lie, I totally caught you staring at her just seconds ago",he said smirking and turning to face me. "W-what umm your seeing things", I said feeling my cheeks heat up. "No worries I won't tell, no ones even awake so you can tell me",he said. I stopped for a moment and thought, he has no one to tell, but if he tells Riley then what'll happen next? "Luke I'm waiting",said Michael staring at me. "Why do you wanna know",I asked just out of curiosity. "Do you like Riley",I asked looking right back at him.
"I'm going to be honest Luke, I thought I did. But I'm not going to be the one to take her if you like her. Even though I tease you and all, that's not a move I'm going to take", he said looking at me with sincere eyes. Wow, I didn't know he liked Riley. I kind of feel jealous but he doesn't seem like he's going to take her. I decided that playing the honesty card was my best option. "Well I'll be honest here too, I do like Riley now that I think about it. I care so much about a person that I haven't known my whole life. It's weird but I'm happy when I'm with her", I said staring blankly at him.
"That's good",he said smiling. "But just don't hurt her please. I don't know what she's been through but I can tell that in her eyes she's a fragile person. And fragile people are easily broken. I care about her too and even if I'm not the one who's able to pick up and repair her broken pieces, I'm happy that it's you. But please don't hurt her okay. Promise me that you won't",he said seriously. "I promise Michael, thank you",I said smiling. "No problem Luke. You should go to bed and stop staring at Riley it's kinda creepy",he said laughing. "Okay, got it. See you in the morning", I said before turning around with thoughts running through my mind.
