I let them into the house and took them to the living room to hang out while I grab some snacks. I went to our kitchen and opened the pantry which my mom said she filled up with snacks, and she wasn't lying. Snacks filled the shelves, with different packaging and colors. I finally decided on a bag of barbecue chips on the top shelf. I tried going on my tippy toes which didn't much. I then resulted to jumping and trying to even touch the bag. "Do you need any help",said a voice behind me.

I turned around to find Luke chuckling to himself. "Well yeah I can't really reach the top shelf, and I really want that bag of chips", I said out of breath from all the jumping. "Here",he said as he easily grabbed the chips from the top with no effort, almost mocking all the hard work I've done. "Well thank you. Must be great being tall", I said. "Yeah I guess if you look at it that way",he said laughing. I smiled and walked over to the living room with chips in my hand.

"Okay so I decided on some barbecue chips, and drinks are in the refrigerator. If you guys want more snacks, it's in the pantry in the kitchen", I said while pointing in the direction of our kitchen. "Okay thanks Riley",said Michael. We all sat there just eating for a bit until Calum spoke up breaking the silence.

"So Riley, why did you move here? You never really told us any of your back story", he said. This was basically the question I have been avoiding so far but I mean why not just answer it to get it over with. "Well it was actually never a plan to move anywhere. That was until last year when my father passed we thought we should move out of Florida to start all over again", I said looking down at the floor.

"I am so sorry Riley, I didn't mean to bring it up", said Calum. "No, no it's fine. Really it's all good",I said putting a fake smile, which everyone seemed to believe except Luke who was looking at me with sad eyes. I looked away breaking his stare from mine, and changed the topic telling them to tell me about themselves. "Hey what's your number Riley",asked Luke. "Oh here one sec",I said as I grabbed their phones and punched my number in.

"There you go, now we can communicate even out of school. Mind blowing isn't it", I said pretending to be amazed. We all laughed and ate some more snacks for about an hour .They stayed for two more hours until my mom got home. "Hi mom", I said getting up to hug her. "Hi honey, did your friends lea-",she said stopping in mid sentence as she saw them behind me.

"Oh hi kids? How are you",my mom said. "Hello Riley's mum, we were just about to leave. Thank you for the snacks, and for letting us stay in your lovely home," said Ashton. Wow who would've thought he would say something so mature, I said laughing in my head. "Oh why thank you, and what are your names?" "Oh I'm Ashton and that's Luke, Michael, and Calum", he said pointing to each of the guys while reciting their names.

"Why hello to all of you to. You guys can come over whenever you'd like to, thank you for making friends with Riley", she said. "Well we should get going now. Wouldn't want to be a bother ," said Michael getting up from his spot,"Thank you again for letting us hang out here". "No problem", said my mom. The boys all got up and one by one they said their good byes. "I'll see you guys tomorrow at school", I said yelling out the door. Yes at least it's a Thursday so tomorrow will be a Friday.

"Will do Riley! Byeeeeee",said Calum. "See ya!" I took one last look at my new friends and realized Luke wasn't there. I laughed as I remembered that Luke lived next door. I turned my head, and sure enough Luke was there trying to open the door to his house. I laughed as I realized that all Luke had to do was go over to his house next to mine. The other boys were already far down the sidewalk walking back to their houses.

"Bye Luke! See you tomorrow", I said leaning on the door. "Bye Riley Goodnight", he said with a smile. I smiled at him before entering my own house. "Well it seems like your first day wasn't as bad", said my mom smiling, probably at the fact that I've made friends. "Yeah, they are actually all really nice people", I said grinning at the thought of those 4 giants. "What about that Luke kid", asked my mom.

"What about him", I said slowly. "Well I thought, you might like him an-" "Mom please don't, please don't ruin this new friendship I have with these people", I said cutting her off. "Okay okay, will do. Well I'm glad you made friends and they also seem like great kids.". "I'm glad to. Looks like my first day went out better than I'd imagine it would", I said picking up my backpack and walking over to my room. Maybe this new life in Australia isn't all that bad.
