41. I'm Bound To Dissapoint You

Riley's P.O.V
"Oh um it's cool, I wasn't expecting it to all come back to you on the first spot we visit",he said slightly smiling. I just smiled back at him sorting the bits of memories I've just acquired. "So they weren't lying after all",I thought. The bits and pieces don't seem to match up, though the boys I saw earlier at the hospital and Luke were scrambled in my memories.

Suddenly a memory of the curly haired boy I had seen at the hospital strucked me. He seemed to be laughing at something, his hazel eyes reflecting the same emotion as his laughter brought. I don't know what he was laughing at, but his laugh was enough to bring a smile upon anyone's face. Luke's voice and him shaking me suddenly brought me out of the state I was in. "You good Riley? I was talking to you but you seemed out of it, do you wanna go home now? Are you tired",he asked with his hands still gripped at my arms.

"Yah I'm fine, so where are we off to next",I said quickly brushing it off. "Oh well like I said were going to eat at this place called Nandos, I took you there before to eat and you seemed to really like it",he said now loosing his grip on my arms. He suddenly took them off my arms. "Sorry about that",he said embarrassed. "It's fine. So um do you know where to go", I asked. "Oh ya sorry, we can go now",he said as we walked away from the school. I trailed behind him, staying close so I don't get lost.

"Wow that was good",I said stepping out of the door from Nandos. "Yeah I took you here after school once, because you said you have never been here before, so I decided to take you",he said smiling. "Hey Ri what time is it",he asked me. "Um its 5:00",I said quickly checking my phone. "Okay good it's not too late. Are you up for another place",he asked looking at me. "Yeah sure can we stop by my house real quick, I didn't bring a jacket, I mean I'm wearing this big sweater but it's thin a-",I stopped as he took his hoodie off and and handed it too me. "No, no thank you you'll be cold and get sick",I said pushing his hand away from me.

"No it's cool I wasn't that cold anyways",he says while handing me the jacket. "Thank you Luke, I owe you",I said finally grabbing the hoodie and putting it on. It wasn't my size but it was very cozy. It smelled kinda like him too, and for some odd reason I felt safe. "Okay so this next stop is just behind our houses",he said walking again. "Got it",I said walking next to him.

We eventually were presented with this small park just behind our houses. Nothing much, a play structure, a bench, some trees here and there. "So is anything coming back to you", he asked standing in front of me. "Not really, but this whole place seems super familiar",I said walking in front of him towards the sand. "Really",he asked excitedly. "Yah but I don't understand why I mean, I've never been in Australia",I said still baffled. "Well I took you here, and this was our secret meet up",he said laughing. He ran up onto the play structure, not letting his height stop him from going on. I was giggling until suddenly another memory hit me. It was like a small clip of a movie being presented to me.

This time it wasn't the curly haired boy, but instead it seemed to be Luke and he was on the same exact play structure he was on and he was looking right at me. Now I was sure it was him, because of his eyes. He was smiling at me, talking to me. Though I don't know what he was saying.

The memory stopped playing back, and I was still standing where I was moments ago. "Riley wanna come up with me",asked Luke. "Y-yah hold up, I think I'm just going to swing for a bit",I said walking over to the small swing set.
He hopped of the play structure and made his way too me. "How come there's no people or kids here",I asked kicking at the ground. "Well not a lot of kids go here anymore because of all the new parks now, but I've went here since I was little and I wanted to show you this place",he said swinging a bit.

"Luke I'm sorry",I said looking away. "Sorry for what",he questioned. "I'm sorry but I'm trying my hardest. I don't want you crushed or disappointed if I don't remember you or anyone at all",I said. "I think it'd be better if you stopped having so much hope in me...I'm bound to disappoint you",I said truthfully.
He was silent for a moment until speaking up. "No it's cool, I know this whole thing might not even work",he said not looking up. "I just want you too remember so badly, but I know it's not as easy as asking you to remember and bam your memory is back. I know this is a lot of pressure on you, but I just miss you so much",he said seriously.

"I mean you're here but you don't even know me and anyone else, it's like our memories are all gone and I have to start all over again, it's like meeting you again and not knowing if you'll like me anymore. You were the only person I opened up too, and I miss that, I miss you so much",he said.

I looked at him and he had tears in his eyes. "I'm so sorry Luke, I'm trying so hard, I just don't want to disappoint you. You deserve to be happy, not taking care of me, live life, be happy Luke don't let me tie you down",I said looking at him. "We should go home Luke",I said placing my hand above his. "Yeah...we should, I can take you home now. We both got up from the swing and he walked next to me back to my house. We finally made it too my door and stood outside.

"Thank you Luke so much for helping, I just need time to sort all this together",I said looking at him. "Yah no problem Ri, um I'll see you..." He paused as if he wasn't sure if I wanted to even hang it with him anymore. "Tomorrow Luke",I said smiling, touching his had a bit for assurance. He seemed so surprised but soon relaxed after. "Got it we can hang here or my house",he said smiling while biting his lip ring. "Um here's fine",I said. "Bye Ri see you tomorrow, so Sunday",he said backing up.

I realized I still had his jacket. "LUKE YOUR JACKET",I called out. "It's fine Riley. Keep its no big deal",he said. "O-oh okay Luke thanks",I said knocking on the door.

My mom opened the door and hugged me tight. "Hi mom, how are you",I said. "Riley I'm fine, I thought something happened are you fine",she asked worried. "I'm fine mom, Luke and I just walked around and at a bit",I said. "Oh he's coming back tomorrow to hang out with me",I added. "That's fine but I'll be out in the bakery, I work there by the way",she said. "Okay got, um I'm going to bed",I said walking to my room. "Ok hon love you",she called.

"Love you too",I stepped in and opened the door to my room. I walked around and sat on the bedside. "When will this all come back to me, I want to remember. I have to remember",I said aloud before I fell asleep on my bed, remaining in Luke's jacket, and not even bothering to change anymore.
