14. Be Yourself

"Man was I missing out on Nandos",I said as we were exiting the restaurant. "I told you! That's why when you said you didn't know what it was, I knew I had to take you there", he said laughing. "Well, it's only 4:30 and I texted my mom and she said I didn't really have to be home early, just as long as it's before twelve", I said. "Yeah we'll be at home before twelve",said Luke.

"Since the day is still young where do you want to go", I asked looking up at him. "Well there is a park just behind our houses, and I used to go there when I was little. Do you uhh maybe wanna hang out there for a bit", he said still not looking me in the eyes. "Yeah that seems fun. Hey why is the shy, stuttering Luke back? Has he retreated back into his shell", I said stopping him from walking.

"I don't know, I guess you just make me nervous. You're so happy and out going, I'm shy and awkward",said Luke still not looking me in the eyes. "Luke why are you nervous, just be yourself, and I am also shy and awkward as well. But for some reason with you guys, I don't need to hide, unlike I did in Florida. So do you,and be yourself no, one is here but me. And I won't judge", I said basically giving a whole speech.

"Okay thanks Riley",he said finally looking at me. His blue eyes met my hazel ones. Even though we only met yesterday, I already feel close to these people, like I can tell them anything and trust that they won't tell another soul. "Great, now that that's settled, let's go to the park",he said linking my arm in his, and he began skipping. "There's the Luke I spoke to earlier", I said laughing at the big goof skipping. I now realized how weird we must've looked. Basically a giant person linking arms with an average sized girl (but next to him, he made me look so small as he towered over me) both skipping down the street laughing and heading of to a park. Not an average day sight if you ask me.
