36. You Don't Seem Familiar

Riley's P.O.V
*Beep, Bzzzzz, Beep* "Whats that noise",I thought as it still continued. I slowly opened my eyelids which felt like they were much heavier than usual. My eyes revealed a room, which I knew from previous visits that, I was in a hospital room. I looked to my side to see a bunch of wires connected to my arm and on my chest, by my heart. A heart beat monitor was right next to my bed, haunting me from past memories of coming to "visit" many hospitals. It showed my heart beats which were slow and unsteady. I tried to move my arm enough to grab the remote to call a nurse to tell her I was awake but decided not too. Mostly because I didn't want to see my mom who I knew would be furious with me, and because my whole body aches and was still very weak. I looked to my other side to see some flowers and a teddy bear, that read ",Get well soon Riley, love Harry and Lauren and the whole Irwin family." Irwin? Who's the Irwin family. I read the little notes from my bed to reveal a bunch of other last names I don't remember. I don't know much people from Florida but these names don't even ring a bell.

I took a deep breathing turning a bit until I felt something sharp poke my arm. I squeezed my eyes a bit to cope with the pain and realized that I had a needle in my arm,probably put in by the doctor. I sat there for a bit trying to recall any memories from what happened. All I remember was my heart hurting so much as well as my whole body and everything going black. I can't believe this all happened. I don't even know what day it is? How long have I been here? I heard footsteps and the door opening to reveal my tired looking mom. "Riley your awake",she screamed as she ran up to me and engulfed me in a huge bear hug. "Hi mom",I said laughing. "I'm sorry I fainted",I said not entirely knowing what even happened. "No no baby it's fine I just wanted to know if your okay",she said cupping my face and kissing my forehead.

"The boys have been here all day and night. The Hemmings and all their families came over to see if you were okay",she said. I smiled and nodded even thought I never even heard that last name before let alone the phrase "the boys" as my mom never used that. The door opened once more to reveal four tall teenage guys who were all surprised to see me awake. "Riley",they all yelped as they ran towards me and all hugged me tightly. "Ummmm mom",I said awkwardly as they still hugged me tightly no one letting go. "Riley were so happy you're okay",said one with dark hair. "We missed you and thought you weren't going to wake up",said another with unusual red hair. I stared at them still confused about who in the world they were. "Riley what's wrong",said one with curly hair. The other one with a lip ring was just staring. "How do you guys know my name",I said shifting uncomfortably.

"What do you mean? We met you at school",said the blonde one with a lip ring finally speaking up. "Don't you remember? I showed you around not long ago and we all clicked then boom we were all best friends",said the curly hair. "I don't remember anyone that showed me around here in Florida",I said shrugging . "Florida? Riley were in Australia", said my mom. "Australia? What? No were in Florida", I said confused. "Riley stop playing around", said the one with a lip piercing more as a question than a statement. "I'm not playing around. Im sorry but I don't know who you guys are. Am I supposed to know",I questioned still not recognizing a single thing.
