If you do not handle subjects and/or mentions of r*pe along, severe bullying (like beaten black and blue type bullying), and homophobic slurs please do not read this story. There will also be panic attack-like scenes and a lot of mental/physical trauma.
I was going to write this on my other account, but decided that this book should have more angst than the other one. Idk my own reasoning don't judge me 🤷
The sky was filled with puffy gray clouds, a light flurry of white snow falling from them. A few of class 1-A's students were accompanying Kirishima to meet his pen-pal. Apparently when Kirishima was in grade school, one of his teachers had their students send out pen-pal requests to other schools. Kirishima eventually received a letter back, and ever since then he has been writing to this mystery person. But even after so long of writing to one another, Kirishima has never met his pen-pal face to face before. Until today that is. Somehow Kirishima's pen-pal finally agreed to meeting up at a downtown cafe.
While they all waited outside for Ejirou's mystery childhood friend, the students had gotten some hot drinks to pass some time by and so they didn't feel so cold. Todoroki Shoto stood beside a table with a umbrella sticking out of the middle of it, swishing his drink around in it's Styrofoam cup. He hadn't drank much of it, the taste and luke-warm temperature wasn't at all pleasant to his palate. Yaoyorozu had picked it out for him after he didn't get anything to drink or eat. He just wasn't hungry or thirsty, if he was he would've ordered something himself. He didn't need Yaoyorozu ordering for him, he wasn't a child and she wasn't his mother.
Todoroki tilted his head up to stare at the sky, exhaling through his nose sharply. He didn't want to be here right now. His classmates had dragged him out here, pretty much against his will, and were forcing him to hang out with them. And because of that, Todoroki was now stuck swishing around a gross drink he wanted to toss into the garbage. All he wanted to do tonight was to stay inside his dorm room and do his own thing until he fell asleep. Like study for Midnight's test tomorrow, write some stories in his notebook or on his laptop, draw, hell he could have even gotten to bed earlier. Lord knows he needs the extra sleep..
Uraraka wonders over to Todoroki, blowing hot air on her gloved hands. "Aren't you cold?" Uraraka questioned, eyeing Todoroki's attire. He was wearing a black turtle neck, jeans, winter boots and a thin black hoodie.
"No." Todoroki shook his head with a light shrug.
"Seriously?? It's freezing out here!! How are you even still alive???" Uraraka responded dramatically, rubbing her hands together to make friction.
"If I were to die by cold, my body temperature would have to get below twenty-one Celsius. Right now it's only-"
"I was only joking Todoroki-Kun!" Uraraka interrupted her friend's lecture with a giggle.
"Oh."
Ochako hummed with a smile on her face whole looking out into the crowds of people, "I can't wait to meet Kirishima-Kun's pen-pal! I wonder if their all about being manly as he is." The angel faced girl looked to the taller boy, "Aren't you excited, Todoroki-Kun?"
"No." Todoroki admits almost too quickly, surprising the brown-eyed girl beside him, "I'm not at all interested in meeting a stranger."
Uraraka smiles, though this one looks a bit weird--as if being forced, "Aw come on Todoroki! I bet their really nice, especially if they've been friends with Kirishima for so long. Maybe they want to be a hero like us! Maybe they were in the entry exam for U.A, heck they could even be someone else at school! I mean, Kiri did say he's never met his pen-pal in person before."
"Using that logic," Todoroki started to argue, "they could also be some shop lifter, drug dealer, loan shark, or even a villain. It's just as likely as them being at U.A. This meet up will surely end in disaster."
These points cause the short brunette girl to shift around nervously, biting her inner lip. However, she hides these feelings behind another smile, "Oh cheer up Todoroki-Kun! You're overreacting, I bet it won't be as bad as you're thinking it will be. Just bare through it, okay? For me?" Todoroki's face is expressionless as he blinks slowly, his lashes fluttering when delicate snow flakes landed on them.
"Okay." Todoroki agreed, his tone not showing his unwillingness. Uraraka claps and cheers, hugging her peppermint haired friend tightly.
