🧒A Child's Promise🤞

I know the ages won't match the mange/anime, but it's the only way this story can kinda make sense:

Tenko Shimura/Tomura Shigaraki -  8 (to me this makes sense because Tenko would be under his father's rules much longer than in the manga, which leads to a strong hate for his entire family. It just makes more sense in my head. And I am also a firm believer that AFO gave Tenko the Decay quirk, so Tenko getting it when he's older than the age limit of five years seems more likely)

Shoto Todoroki - 5 (And just so no one is confused, I believe Shoto acts older than his age. I mean come on, ever since getting his quirk he's been forced to grow up fast. So, don't get too confused when he seems to be acting...well, not like a kid.)

Also, I just made up the Todoroki family maid's name. I don't think her real name was ever revealed in the manga. 

Todoroki Shoto stared out at the playground beyond the bottom of the small hill, heterochromia eyes squinted slightly due to the bright sun and from his own mild confusion. His head tilted to the right slightly as he watched the kids play together, laughing and screaming jovially while doing so. Some of them he recognized as his classmates from school, which for some odd reason confused the boy even more. Looking up at his family's maid, Ms. Yui, he stared at her in a silent interrogation. He wanted to know why they were even there in the first place. From what he could recall, Shoto had never once written about wanting to go to a playground. 

"Go on," Ms. Yui nudges the little boy carefully on the back, which grows tense when a bruise is gently brushed against, "ask them if you can play with them. They look like nice children." Despite wanting nothing to do with those kids, Shoto figured that Yui was trying to get him to make friends. He remembered that she had once told him; 'Making friends helps one when they're sad.' Shoto couldn't help but think Ms. Yui was trying to replace his mother in a way--acting much more motherly than was actually needed by a maid. 

' Fine, i'll do it. ' Shoto decides as he sighs softly through his nose, ' But only to get it through to you that friends just aren't for me..' Sauntering down the hump in the earth to the flatter land, Todoroki moved toward the group of kids. Each step he took was just nearly as silent as him, so he wasn't noticed right away. Luckily Todoroki had the talent of being extraordinarily patient, so he didn't mind waiting around and watching. Eventually a kid from Shoto's homeroom, Mori Taro, took notice of him just standing there. 

Taking out his tiny notepad and pen, Todoroki scribbled down 'Can I play too?' before flipping it over so that it was visible to read.
A girl Todoroki had never seen before began to speak up, "Sure, you ca -"
"NO!" Taro's twin sister, Mori Sara, interrupts the girl, "He can't play with us!"
"But why not?" 
"He's a freak!" Another kid from Todoroki's class answered, holding the ball they were playing with behind them as if the red/white haired boy's mere presence would rip it away. 
"He killed a squirrel during recess!" Sara brings up, causing all the kids who didn't know Todoroki gasp and gag in disgust.
' It was like that when I found it, ' Shoto notes to himself, ' I was just making sure it was dead..'

Taro glares daggers at Shoto, "Go away! We don't want you around!" Blinking slowly, Todoroki tilts his head again as if he hadn't understood what he had been told. Kicking dirt at the fire & ice user, Taro blurts out again, "Shoo! Go away! Get out of here!" Turning around, Todoroki walks away, expression still emotionless as he heard the kids beginning to talk behind his back;
"So weird.."
"His face is scary!"
"What's with those bruises on his legs?"
"Why is he wearing long sleeves and gloves in spring?? That's stupid." 

If he could talk, Todoroki knew he could answer those last two questions: The long sleeves were to hide the healing cuts from both training and the shard of glass under the bathroom sink. The gloves were originally only meant for his left hand--since his nails still weren't fully healed--but Ms. Yui saw that wearing only one glove to be awkward. To solve this,  she makes him wear both. And finally the shorts were meant to expose his bruises. He knew Yui hoped that maybe one of the other adults would take notice and maybe take him and her to the police. There, she would be able to spill her guts about the Pro 'Hero' Endeavor.
