It isn't too much of a surprise to hear that Todoroki Shoto never had a whole lot of friends growing up. But it would shock you to know that he did, in fact, have one. Well, had is probably the correct word.

It was one of the rare times when Rei and Shoto were the only ones in the house. All of her other kids were at school and her husband had gone to work early. So, she decided to take Shoto to the local park so he could get out of the house for a little while. However, much to her dismay, none of the other kids would play with her youngest child.

Due to his peculiar behavior and lack of facial expression, many kids were unnerved by Shoto and chose to stay away. All except one. This boy who appeared a few years older than Shoto approached him when he was playing alone in the sandbox. He had one of the kindest smiles Shoto had ever seen, the softest eyes and the most gentle voice.

Even though his other friends seemed unsure, Tenko insisted that Shoto would play with them. So, he did. At first it had really only been to make his mother happy, but gradually he began to enjoy himself. Never having played with kids his age, the red/white haired boy was shocked to actually be enjoying himself.

He only saw the boy a few more times, mainly at school. On the occasion his class passed by another in the hallway, the smiling boy would notice him and wave. The last time this happened, Shoto had worked up the nerve to wave back. Then, he just...disappeared.

Without a trace the boy never popped up ever again. Not even at the park. It was not until twelve years later that this boy would finally reappear. However this time in the form of a man whose body was covered by dead, disembodied hands.

Now, granted, it took some time during the fight before Todoroki would recognize the man for who he really was. This could be pinned on the fact that he no longer had black hair, instead it was now a grayish pale blue. And when he had gotten close enough, he saw that his eyes were a bright red.

Right as it clicked that Todoroki did in fact know this man, it seemed that he too had a similar Epiphany. Mid-attack when he had Endeavor's son pinned to the ground, the villain halted and just...stared. There he had a Pro Hero's kid trapped beneath him, helpless since his brain was too jumbled to fight back, yet he didn't hurt him. Just stared right into his eyes as if searching for something.

In the end the crazed man didn't even put a scratch on Shoto, abandoning his 'master plan' almost instantly after this encounter and leaving the USJ.

Ever since that day, whenever Todoroki left his house he'd get the feeling of being followed the entire trip. There have only been a couple times that he has managed to catch a glimpse of his supposed stalker: they were always dressed in dark clothes and would duck behind a structure of some kind before they were caught. But since he had never got a sense of danger from this person, Shoto never put much effort into confronting them. He had his suspicions that it may be the man from the USJ and, possibly, the smiling boy from his childhood.

Perhaps he was trying to approach him. Maybe he was nervous?

Tonight was very muggy for a summer night. It was more than likely because all the full ice users were either at college, staying at a friends' house, or were locked in a hospital. Thankfully, Endeavor was missing from the house all together. Had another long night of work ahead of him, hopefully. This left Shoto alone in his childhood house.

Though he could use his quirk to cool down, all his energy had been beaten out of him during school. So to help, Shoto left his bedroom window open to allow in a faint breeze.

Awhile had passed since he had fallen asleep, but for some reason tonight he was sleeping lighter than usual. When he felt a dip in his futon, the red/white haired male awoke but did not open his eyes. Nor did he turn over to see what had joined him in bed. No, he stayed as still as he had before.
