That night, Shoto barely got a wink of sleep. It was near impossible for him to even think about sleeping when all of his thoughts were scuffling around inside his head, as if they were a stack of playing cards. So, when Enji came into his son's room at around 5 AM for training it came as no surprise that Shoto already felt like he was going to drop dead. The poor boy was drowsy, had a terrible headache and was barely able to function properly. Thankfully for Sho, training only lasted about two hours today instead of the usual four due to Endeavor having to leave earlier for work. Despite this, however, those two hours felt longer since Shoto was getting the absolute shit beaten out of him the entire time. Which honestly after twelve years of it, he should've been used to it.

"We shall continue this whenever I return from work." Enji declared, signaling that training was over. Even when his father left the dojo, Todoroki just sat there motionless for a while, wanting to see if the throbbing pain would settle down if he just waited. It didn't. Forcing himself up to his feet--his knees buckles and nearly sent him crashing back down to the floor--Shoto stumbled out of the dojo room just in time to hear his father's car leaving the driveway. Shoto caught a glimpse of his sister standing in front of the mirror hanging on the wall as he passed by to get into the kitchen, using its reflective surface to assist her in attaching her earring. Shoto doesn't bother trying to speak to her; at the moment he didn't have his notepad on him, so he really couldn't talk to her even if he wanted to.

However, as soon as she saw him Fuyumi smiled and greeted him, "Good morning Shoto!" Shoto opens a cabinet to search for a mug, finding himself thirsty and in the mood for iced tea. "Dad is going to be working late tonight," Fuyumi informs as she finally succeeds with pushing the thin metal through the hole in her lobe, "he probably won't be back until sometime tomorrow."
' Good, ' Shoto tells himself as he finds a decent mug, ' the longer he is away, the more time I have to rest..
"How did you sleep last night?" Fuyumi asked conversationally, her brother responding by giving a soft shrug.
' About twenty minutes at the most..' He admits to himself, checking inside the mug for any dirty spots or dust. It was clean.

Fuyumi pauses for a brief moment, turning her head to look over her shoulder at her little brother. "Shoto, about the other night..what happened to you? When you got back, you were acting so frantic and scared. It worried me when you didn't tell me what happened."
Shoto begins to look around for a piece of paper, ' You act like this is something new. I don't tell you anything anymore..' Finding a sticky note and pen next to a list of food items, Shoto writes down, 'Cop found me and told me to go home.' and shows it to his sister.
Fuyumi added, "Got nervous?" Shoto just nods, it was partly true he supposed. Fuyumi lets out a sigh of relief, "I thought something bad had happened to you. If anything had happened, you'd tell me right?"
Shoto nods again but on the inside he was thinking, ' I'll take it to my grave before I tell you anything again..

Placing his mug down on the counter top gently, turning the cold water knob in the sink. "You can use the electric kettle if you want to. I bought it for all of us to use." Fuyumi reminds the younger, pointing to the kettle in question. Shoto gives her a side eyed glance before taking his mug and filling it up with the icy water.
' I've told you countless times that I don't drink hot stuff..'
"I know you don't like drinking warm stuff, but you really do need to get over that fear." Fuyumi turns back to the mirror, double checking to make sure she looks alright.
' It's not a fear, it's just a preference..'

"Today is my friend's birthday, i'm going out with her to celebrate." The older explains, hearing the cabinet door creak open.
' I don't care. Why are you telling me this stuff? '
"I have a grocery list and I need you to go to the store for me today whenever you get the chance. I would really appreciate it."
' Aaannd there it is..' Nodding in agreement, Shoto finds some kukicha tea and decides that he'll have that. Seeing her friend's car pull up in the driveway, Fuyumi sighs deeply.
"I'll be leaving now, have a good day." Fuyumi announces, turning to leave. However just as she did so her body stopped.
