I'm not angry anymore, well, sometimes I am.
I don't think badly of you, well, sometimes I do.

My morning felt too rushed and it wasn't something I really cared for. I was hoping I could wake up sooner than I did, but apparently I had a bit too many drinks last night and slept in. Although I was out of the house on time, I just didn't like the feeling of being not well rested. I felt moody. Although, I couldn't be moody right now since I was on my way to pick up Lucy. I did feel uneasy though for more reasons than not sleeping long enough. I had no idea Lily was Lucy's roommate and now knowing I was going to have to possibly face Lily again, bothered me. I didn't have anything against her, but we didn't end on the best terms. I was hoping I wouldn't have to see her anytime soon after the breakup, but due to the fact that she was now my only coworker's roommate and this island being so small, it was pretty much impossible.
As my car started to drive down the street where I used to stay, a lump in my throat began to form. I didn't know why I was suddenly feeling so nervous. I've seen Lily multiple times within the past couple of weeks, I shouldn't feel this uneasy. I soon found the house and slowly pulled up and put the car in park. I let out a big breath before pulling out my phone and messaging Lucy that I was there. As soon as the text was sent, a sudden movement caught my eye. I looked ahead of me and saw two people walking up the somewhat tall hill up the road. I could see the two were holding hands, though I couldn't at all see their faces due to their back being faced towards me and since they were a bit too far. Suddenly, my phone buzzed with a message.
'Coming!' - Lucy Day
I sighed once again and dropped my phone onto my lap. I looked forward again as I waited for Lucy to come out and noticed the two people that were walking were now fooling around. Suddenly, the taller figure picked up the shorter one. They continuing walking up the hill and I couldn't help but remember what that was like. Having someone to play and joke with. Someone to laugh with, cry with, argue with even. To hug, to kiss, to cuddle, to just feel someone against my skin. I missed it all. But I know I only missed the feeling of being with someone and not the person. I didn't miss the person at all. Lily was too much and I couldn't handle it again.
Interrupting my thoughts, Lucy suddenly knocked on my window. I quickly unlocked my doors and soon she was jumping into my car. Excitement also entered my car quickly. Her whole vibe was excitement, happiness, and pure joy. It was nice to have around for the first time in awhile.
"Good morning Harry!" Lucy cheered. I smiled at her enthusiasm, it was quite entertaining and comforting.
"Good morning Lucy, how are you today?" I asked as I shifted the gear into drive while she put her seatbelt on. As I began driving down the road, Lucy had finally gotten settled.
"Oh it was actually so great! I had such a big breakfast and a lovely sleep. How about you?" she said. I smiled and nodded at her answer.
"That's good, and uh my morning was alright. Just a late start," I said as I let out a deep breath.
"Aw, I'm sorry Harry," Lucy quickly said while rubbing my arm that was on the arm rest in between us. I licked my lips as I did a quick double take at her touching my arm.
"I'll be fine," I shrugged. As we came to the stop sign at the end of the street, Lucy sparked up the conversation once more.
"Thank you so much for picking me up, I didn't realize I had a flat until this morning when I went to get some stuff out of my car," she said. I shook my head as I pulled to a stop to look both ways.
"Oh no worries. We'll get that tire switched out tonight after work," I said now driving up the hill I was looking at earlier. "So what caused the flat anyway?" I questioned.
"Uh well, I found a nail in it, so the air must have leaked out throughout the night," she explained.
"Ah, that sucks," I said now coming down the hill and to a stop light.
"Yeah, but thankfully I work at a car shop," she said letting out a small relieved laugh. I chuckled along with her while I began to rub my chin as my other hand continued to stay on the steering wheel. I stared ahead and saw two people leaning against a car.
"Yeah, that's great news for you," I answered while I continued to look straight ahead at the two people. They looked familiar, but then again everyone looks familiar in this small place. You're bound to see the same person multiple times in the same week if you go out enough.
"So what are our plans today?" Lucy questioned. My light then turned green and as I began to drive forward, I was for some reason intrigued by the two that were standing on the sidewalk.
"Uh, well we'll be learning about oil changes. So how to check the oil, change it, and uh.." suddenly I was distracted by the two as they came closer into view. I realized who it was. It was her. With him. Were they together? Has she already moved on? It's only been a few months and suddenly she found someone else?
She couldn't have. She wouldn't have.As I drove closer, I seen what I didn't need to see whatsoever. Her hands were on the back of his head, one in his hair and the other on his neck, while his hands lingered on her waist, practically on her hips, holding her close against his body. My grip on the steering wheel tightened, my jaw clenched, and I in no way could finish my sentence. Nothing but rage filled my body. She was a liar. Nothing but a liar. But why should I care? We aren't together. Nor are we getting back together, ever. I shouldn't be bothered by her actions. She was her own person who was gonna do what she wanted. If she wanted to move on this quickly, that's on her. And I have no right to be upset.
"Um, Harry are you okay?" Lucy asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Oh, uh yeah sorry. Just got distracted. Where were we?" I asked her relaxing a bit now, but not fully calm. She then put her hand on my shoulder and rubbed it with her thumb.
"You know, if it makes you feel any better, she was really hurt without you," Lucy said very blunt. I couldn't deal with trying to ignore it cause it didn't matter at this point.
"Sure she was," I said rolling my eyes. Lucy then let out a small breath of air as she pulled her hand back.
"She hasn't been out of the house since you guys broke up," she calmly said.
"She sure looks cooped up," I bluntly said back. Lucy then turned her whole body towards me.
"Harry, you haven't moved on, have you?" she questioned but it sounded more like a statement. I then shook my head.
"Believe me, I definitely have."
"Then why are you bothered?"
Why am I bothered? I have no reason to be. She wasn't my girlfriend anymore. I don't have feelings for her anymore. She means nothing to me.
"I'm not," I said. I then saw Lucy roll her eyes and cross her arms from the corner of my eye.
"I never took you for a liar." I rolled my eyes in response then quickly stopped the car. There were no cars behind me, but even if there was, it wouldn't have stopped me from stopping the car to make a point. I quickly caught Lucy's attention as she turned back to me.
"Lily means nothing to me," I harshly said. "I guess just seeing her with someone kinda bothers me for other reasons," I said now looking straight ahead.
"Why?"
I don't know. Maybe because it's so soon. Though again, I don't care for her so why should it even bother me?
"I guess I don't like seeing others happy when I'm not all the way there yet."
