'It was almost two years,

that I chose to spend here.

All alone on New Years,

Thinking, 'what the hell?''

Rage. Nothing but rage filed my body. I didn't understand why. I was currently talking to someone who was amazing. Understood me. Was kind. Beautiful. Just absolutely lovely. Why was I bothered? I knew I didn't care, but for some reason, it felt like I did.

I had slammed my car door shut and instantly pulled my phone put, I quickly found her contact and began typing up a message. I know it was childish of me but I honestly couldn't face either of them.

'Hey, I'm outside.' I wrote. Within seconds, Lucy replied.

'Come on in! :)' Lucy replied. Damn it. I know this shouldn't be so awkward for me. But gosh, I can't go there alone. I'm surprised they didn't see me walking up the steps. And I'd rather not walk past their make out session alone.

'Don't want to open my car door like a lady?' I teased, but honestly was just trying to hint for her to come outside.

'Haha! Be out soon!' she replied, thankfully coming out without protest. I let out a breath, I didn't know I was keeping in. I didn't really know what to think right now. I couldn't understand why it bothered me so much that Lily and Jared just said they loved each other. I didn't love her anymore.

I just hated being around it. Did I hate Lily?

Maybe I've become one of those people who can't stand their ex? I can't believe I have though. How could I have become so petty? So childish? Whatever the reason, what made me change?

I then heard a door shutting, I assumed it was Lucy. I opened up my door and got out and leaned against the car waiting for to come around to meet me. I heard her footsteps approaching while I kept my back towards the house.

"What happened to me opening your door like a lady?" she said as her voice came closer. I slightly smirked while she walked in front of me, wrapping her arms around my torso.

"You took too long," I teased. I then placed my hands on her hips. She giggled while she stood on tippy toes, leaned in and closed her eyes. I smiled and leaned down meeting her half way, placing my lips onto hers.

"Shall we head inside?" she asked.

"We shall," I answered while placing one more quick kiss onto her lips. She then turned around while reaching her hand behind her for mine. I grabbed it, following behind her closely. As we approached the steps to the house, my stomach started turning once again as we came closer. We walked up the steps and Lucy then spoke up while I had turned the other way, trying to avoid looking their way.

"Oh hey you two, I didn't see you out here," Lucy said.

"Hey guys," Lily said.

"Hello," Jared said shortly after, forcing me to finally turn their way. I slightly smiled and nodded my head as a greeting.

"What are you guys up to today?" Lucy asked. Perhaps I should have just walked in the first time and avoided this longer interaction.

"Uh nothing much, just hanging around," Lucy said.

"Oh how fun," Lucy answered. I cleared my throat a bit, making Lucy turn to me.

"My throat is a bit dry, I'm going to grab some water," I said trying to make my voice seem a bit raspier than usual.
