I sat on the couch with Jared, legs on his lap, while he had his arm around me, and a blanket covered us. Lucy and Harry sat together on the love seat cuddling also. It was nearly five in the evening and after talking about the London plans with Lucy and Harry, I started getting hungry. I turned to Jared and placed my hand on his cheek.
"Jared?" I said softly.
"Yes my sweets?" Jared said turning his attention to me. As he said that, from the corner of my eye, I could see Harry's head shift slightly towards us but quickly directed his attention back to Lucy.
"I'm hungry," I told him quietly. He turned his head towards my hand and placed a kiss on my palm then moved his head back to fit back into my hand.
"What are you feeling like beautiful?" he said matching my tone.
"I only want what I can't have," I admitted.
"Olive Garden?" he asked. I puckered my lips and gave him a sad expression as I nodded my head. He laughed a bit and leaned in and placed a quick kiss on my lips.
"Let's go get some stuff and I'll cook, yeah?" he said. A smile grew on my face and I leaned in again and kissed him once more.
"Please," I said.
"Alright, let's go," he said now moving to stand up. I pulled my legs off his legs and stood up now stretching while Jared did the same. Both Lucy and Harry's attention then shifted to us.
"Where you guys headed?" Lucy asked as she leaned her head on Harry's shoulders.
"My big baby here wants some Olive Garden, but since we don't have one on the island we're going to go to the store and grab some stuff for Italian tonight." Jared explained.
"Ugh, that sounds amazing! I haven't had Italian food in ages!" Lucy said.
"He cooks the absolute best Italian food, you will ever have Lucy," I told her.
"Bring me some left overs at least," Lucy said.
"Come have dinner with us," Jared said. Everyone's eyes then shifted to Jared.
"Are you sure?" Lucy questioned
"Yeah, we don't want to disturb your guys' dinner plans-"
"Nonsense, let's head to the store then go back to my place," Jared said cutting Harry off. Both Harry and Lucy looked at each other and without much convincing, they both stood up and both headed to Lucy's room, which I was assuming they were getting their shoes and jackets.
"You're the sweetest person I know," I said wrapping my arms around his neck. His hands then went to holding my arms as a smile grew on his face.
"Don't be so dramatic, it's just dinner," he said.
"You're just so kind.. I'm not used to it," I admitted.
"Well get used to it," he said now leaning down a bit and kissing my lips.
I smiled at his actions then headed to my room to slip on my shoes while Jared went outside to warm the car up. As I walked back out of my room, I seen Harry and Lucy standing near the door looking at each other smiling.
Harry then leaned down and placed a soft kiss onto Lucy's lips and pulled away looking happier than ever.
Good for them. They both deserve happiness. I'm glad they both have someone.
They then began walking out and I soon followed. I locked the door behind me as Harry and Lucy walked down the stairs. They got into their car while Jared waited for me in his.
Once I jumped into his car, we were off. Jared began driving to the store while Harry and Lucy followed not far behind us. As we drove, the music played softly over the radio while we sat in a comfortable silence. His hand held onto mine in my lap while my other hand lingered on his arm and my head leaned on his shoulder.
I traced his forearm with my finger just admiring how beautiful he was. I couldn't believe I was in love once again.
"Hey Jared..?" I said softly.
"Yes, my love?" He answered. I smiled to myself knowing I was his love. I was beyond lucky to have someone so amazing.
"You know I love you right?"
We pulled up to a stop light and Jared slowly came to a stop. Once we were stopped, he placed a firm kiss on top of my head.
"Believe me, I think about that every day," he said. I smiled even wider and squeezed his a hand a bit tighter. I really really loved this guy.
"Have you ever been in love before?" I blurted out. Jared seemed to have gasped a bit then began driving when the light turned green. It seemed the question had taken him by surprise. But I don't blame him. Even I was taken back by the question.
I don't know where it came from but I didn't even have time to think about it before I asked.
"Um.. y-yeah.. I have been.. just once.." he hesitated.
"How long were you together..?" I asked.
"Four years," he answered.
"I'm assuming it was serious?"
"Uh.. kind of. We lived together for two of those years.. I met her family.. well besides her younger brother. He had left home when he was young. And he just didn't visit home too much, so we never got the chance to meet," he sighed.
"I almost bought her a ring.." he finished.
"So what happened with you and her?" I continued.
"Uh.. she and I broke up.. due to my work.." he said. He continued driving but he seemed to have slowed down a bit and rubbed my hand with his thumb.
"Just cause of work?" I asked softly.
"Yeah.. it was.. uh.. it doesn't matter. It's in the past. I haven't thought about her in a while," he finished.
I nodded my head a bit, slightly understanding. But still wanting to know more.
"Jared.. do you regret taking that job..?" I continued on. It probably wasn't the best questions to best asking right now. But I was curious.
We had pulled into the parking lot of the grocery store and Jared had parked the car then turned his body to look at me.
"Not at all," he said. I raised an eyebrow confused.
"And why not?" I asked. He leaned in and placed a firm kiss on my lips as his hands cupped my cheeks. He lingered a bit and placed a few more soft kisses on my lips before fully pulling away. We both opened our eyes and pressed our foreheads together.
"Because if I didn't leave for work I wouldn't have met you and believe me... meeting you was the best thing that has ever happened to me," he said. I smiled at him and placed another kiss on his lips.
Thank God he loves me because I don't know what I would do without this guy.
