"But I gave my heart to her in sweet surrender
How well I remember, I'll always remember
Oh, what a night.
Oo-oo, what a night,
It was, it really was such a night."

What a night. Honestly what can I really say about tonight, other than: 'That just happened.'
God I'm so excited. I haven't been this happy in so long. But how could the best night I've had in awhile also be the most awkward? Besides all of that chaos, I honestly couldn't be more thrilled. I did it. She's mine.
As the night came to a close for us, we began to head back to her place. The car ride was silent but it wasn't a bad silent. It was such a calm, relaxed, happy silent. I normally hated silence but this was different. It wasn't quiet because anyone was upset, tired, or awkward, it was quiet because it was utter happiness. I had one hand on the wheel while my other hand rested on Lily's leg. She was leaning on the arm rest in between us to rest her head on my shoulder, while her arms wrapped around mine. It was such a great feeling knowing she was mine right now. I know it's only been a few months since we've met but God, I honestly wish I would have done this sooner. Knowing I can kiss her, hug her, call her, whenever I please was amazing. And yeah, I know I've been doing this with her for awhile now, but knowing nobody else could made me happier than ever.
"Jared," Lily whispered. I raised my eyebrows and raised my head a bit in response to her.
"Yes darling?" I answered a bit quietly as well.
"I'm sorry about tonight," she quietly said. My eyebrows then frowned at her statement. How could she apologize for such great night?
"What are you sorry about Lily?" I quickly questioned her.
"I know you wanted this night to be perfect and I ruined it with how I acted when I seen Lucy and Harry... I didn't mean-"
"Honey, you didn't ruin anything," I quickly reassured her. "You reacted the way any regular person would have." I turned my head towards her while still glancing up at the road paying attention to driving still.
"If I seen my roommate and my ex together, I would have been a bit taken back as well," I slightly chuckled while rubbing my thumb on her leg, hoping to comfort her more than my words could. She stayed quiet, continuing to take deep breaths. We pulled up to a red light and as I brought the car to a stop, all my attention went straight to Lily.
She was damaged. I know there's so much I don't know yet and I'm so ready to know it all. I want to know everything about this girl. I want to know why she's so hurt and broken so I hopefully could find the broken pieces and put them back together again. I know I have to find out soon why she moved to this small island with Harry. Why she doesn't speak about her family. Why she has such little faith in herself for everything. Whatever hurt her, I'm ready to help her become whole again.
"You know I care about you right?" I softly said. She nodded her head slightly while she rubbed my arm with her hand as her other hand went to hold my other hand on her leg.
"Mhm," she softly said.
"Lily," I said causing her to look up at me. "I care about you so much. I just want you to know there's so much we're going to go through as everyone does in relationships, and I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure we figure it out together," I explained.
