Aki walked down the street passed the now closed SPR and saw a girl with short brown hair sitting on the steps. "Hello Miss Aren't you Mai Taniyama?" Aki asked the girl and she nodded. "Why don't you come with me to the station we have a perfect job for you." Aki said softly to the girl.
~Aki's Pov~
I did that almost two months ago and now Mai and I were inseparable partners. "Mai wake up we have a new case Kana told me to leave as soon as we could." I said shaking the girl. "Five more minutes Aki." She mumbled and I let out a sigh. "Fine five more minutes but if you aren't up and in the living room ready for work in fifteen minutes I will leave with out you." I said going into the living room of our apartment and sat down on the couch. "Why doesn't she just wake up like she is supposed too?" Layla asked me as she stared into my eyes. I just shrugged at the girl that stood before me. Layla is my twin sister but she isn't actually all there she is in a coma back in England where I grew up. I smiled at my sister and then looked at the door to hear a knock. "Must be Monk and Ayako to get us for work." I mumbled to Layla standing up and answering the door to stare at Lin Koujo my assisted mentor from england. "Is Mai h- Tala?" He questioned and I looked away over at Layla and she just shrugged at me. "I will get Mai for you sir." I said bowing slightly and walking into Mai's room. "Mai Taniyama get out of this bed somebody is here for you." I yelled at her pulling away the covers ending up in her falling on the floor. "I'm awake Aki Geez what do you want?" She asked a bit upset about being woken up. "1. Get up. 2. Somebody is standing at the door asking for you get dressed." I said walking out of her room. "Come on in sir." I said leading him to the living room. "Tala why are you acting like that?" He asked and Layla got closer to me. "Are you going to act like you aren't Taliana Jones?" She whispered into my ear. "I'm sorry sir but youyou must have the wrong person." I said kindly keeping a fake smile on my face. "Oh my apologies. What might your name be then?" He asked and I smirked. "Akira Tsukino I am in charge of the psychic unit through the police." I introduced my alias to him. He nodded at me and then smiled. "I am Lin Koujo I work at Shibuya Psychic Research as an assistant to Kazuya Shibuya." Lin introduced and I nodded as Mai walked out. "Oh Lin I see you met Aki." She said cheerfully. "Yes she seems very nice." Lin replied and I bowed. "Forgive me for leaving now but I have a mission to take care of but Mai can stay and chat I can take care of it myself." I said before walking out the door and getting into my car and driving off to the case.
