"How about 'Gotta Get Out'?" Calum asks.

The boys have set up and I'm sitting on a chair that Ashton moved earlier so I could sit opposite them and watch them rehearse. Like Luke said, they have a gig next week so they want to make sure they do as well as they can, even if only 4 people turn up to watch them.

"Yeah, okay," Michael mumbles, still not daring to speak up.

I smile, making sure that no one can see me. While Ashton and I were in the kitchen, we made a bet to see how long Michael would last without speaking properly. He guessed another hour, I guessed 3. Ashton makes discreet eye contact with me and tries not to catch the giggles. I love how he laughs every minute.

Luke begins to play his guitar and soon enough, Ashton joins in on his drum. Suddenly I feel nervous. I think it's because it's the first time I've seen them rehearse together as a four piece.

"Even when the sky is falling down,

even when the Earth is crumbling around my feet," Luke sings, softly.

"Even when we try to say goodbye,

and you could cut the tension with a knife in here," Calum and Michael begin.

"'Cause I know what'll happen,

if we get through this,"

Just then Michael starts strumming his guitar along with Luke and Ashton's drum beats get faster.

"And if the Earth ends up crumbling down to it's knees then baby,

we just gotta get out,

we just gotta get out,"

"Gotta get, gotta get, gotta get out,"

They carry on the rest of the song as I watch, smiling like an idiot. I knew they were talented, but with Ashton they could sell out arenas!

The song is perfect too. It's not too fast but not too slow, which somehow fits perfectly to their liking. This song isn't a cover though. It's one they wrote themselves which makes it even more amazing.

When they finish, I raise my eyebrows. It puts them in the position where they don't know if I liked it or not. I definitely did. Everyone except Michael are looking at me, waiting for a response.

"Wow," I say and that's all they need to know that I found it amazing.

They all smile and Luke lets out a long breath. But whether that's because he was nervous or just because of how much he sang, I don't know.

"Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I may or may not have wrote that song," Calum grins, proudly.

"Well you should be proud of it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will love it," I grin back.

"How many songs do we get to sing?" Michael asks, blocking me out of the conversation.

Luke looks at me, knowing what Michael just did. I roll my eyes behind his back, causing Luke to laugh, then badly try to disguise it as a cough.

"Well, we have the stage for an hour so that gives us a good 10 songs, with a couple of breaks," Calum says.

"Okay, should we practise some more covers?" he asks, obviously wanting to get rid of me.
