~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The car ride was extremely awkward. Finn kept trying to start a conversation with me, but as I was so nervous, I couldn't speak at all, let alone to him. I don't even know why he came, except to argue with Ruby. Of course, throughout their arguments, Oscar didn't once defend his girlfriend. He just kept his eyes ahead of him and smirked to himself, tapping his fingers in time with the music on the radio. Sometimes, I really dislike that boy.
Occasionally, Ruby would have these random moments where she'd get all excited and jump around in her seat.
I tried to keep a smile on my face all through the journey and I found it not as difficult as I thought. Seeing Ruby so happy about something made me realise that it's not about me or Luke, it's simply for her. It's times like these where need to be her friend and be happy with her.
Right now, me and Ruby are sitting on the ground against a coffee shop, waiting for the arena doors to open along with thousands of other people. As we're staying nearby overnight, Finn and Oscar have headed to the hotel to unpack and settle in. Tomorrow, Oscar has promised to take Ruby shopping, although I think I'll spend the day alone, probably sleeping. I have no idea what Finn will be doing, as long as he doesn't bother me, which is unlikely.
"Are you okay?" Ruby asks me, seriously.
I smile, "I'm great, honestly. I'm really really great,"
"I hope you're not lying to me right now,"
"No! I'm telling the truth. I'm actually really excited,"
Ruby is silent for a moment as she furrows her eyebrows in confusion.
"Okay then," she says, grinning at me.
Just as she says that, we hear about 300 screams coming from the corner, which tells us that the doors have been opened.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit," Ruby curses, "We're going in!!"
She starts jumping around and screaming before she has to calm herself down and we head towards the doors, where some queues have formed. We find the right queue and we soon arrive at the doors, where our tickets are checked and scanned.
I'm surprised that Ruby isn't saying anything. Maybe the nerves are hitting her.
It's not long before we walk into the arena and find our seats, which are extremely close to the stage. Ruby sits down, but I stay standing as I look around us. There are so many people in here. They all came to see 5SOS. It hits me just now that they really have achieved their dream.
"Alex? Are you crying?" Ruby asks, gasping.
"What?" I say, quickly blinking and wiping away the tear that managed to escape from my eye, "No, I'm not crying,"
She rummages around in her bag and pulls out a packet of tissues, "It's okay, I came prepared. These were supposed to be for me, but I think you need them more,"
Ruby hands the packet of tissues to me as I sit down.
"Thank you," I say, laughing a little, "I'm stupid. I don't even know why I'm crying. I'm just-"
"Happy?" she asks, smiling.
"Yeah. I'm so happy,"
"And so you should be. You deserve it,"
