"Guess what we're doing on June 2nd?" Ruby asks happily, as we meet the group outside the gates before school starts.
Groans come from everyone as I quietly laugh to myself.
"Don't even let me guess," Liam says, rolling his eyes.
All 9 of us head into school, 20 minutes early as usual. It's Friday and Violet insisted we all camp out in her garden tonight. I thought it would be good fun but Ruby, the girly-girl, is worried about the hygiene of sleeping outside.
"Then we could go out bowling in the afternoon?" Violet suggests as we arrive at our usual place in the grounds.
I sit down on the bench while Ethan sits beside me, along with Liam and Max next to him. Finn perches himself on the arm next to me and puts his arm around my shoulder.
"Why not," Oscar sighs, sitting on the wall opposite to us with the girls.
"Come on Ruby, it will be fun!" Alice says, trying to persuade her.
"Since when are you the one who bails on fun?" Ethan asks.
"Camping is not fun. It's dirty. And there's bugs everywhere," she responds.
"You'll be safe with me," says Oscar, smiling.
"Shut up,"
"What! I'm just saying the truth,"
"You know it's gonna make me change my mind,"
"Isn't that the whole point?"
Max stands up, abruptly, "Okay! It's settled! We are all going camping,"
Sarcastic cheers come from Finn and me and Violet glares at us, which causes us to laugh.
"I hate you guys sometimes," she sighs.
"We love you too, V," Finn smiles.
After that, we talk individually between us. Max and Liam talk about the football games, Ethan and Violet are arguing yet again, Alice gets bored and goes over to join her friends from dance class and Oscar, Ruby, Finn and me are starting to plan things for camping tonight.
The school bell interupts Oscar in mid sentence, talking about what food to bring. There's a lot of us so we each won't need to bring that much food.
"I'll see you period 2," Finn says, to me before we head to our differenct classes.
"See you," I say as he nods at me from a distance, catching up with Ethan for his first class.
I walk by myself to Maths as none of the gang are in the same class as me. When I get there, I head to my desk towards the back of the class near the windows and pray that Tyler doesn't turn up today. He's the guy who sits next to me in Maths and he never ever shuts up. Last lesson he told me how his rabbit ran away because he let him walk around the house or something - I was trying not to listen anyway.
"Alex!!"
Just as I'm getting out my books, I grit my teeth and look up to see the familiar and unfortunate person who called my name, standing at the front of the room, waving.
"Tyler," I force a smile, "You're here,"
Tyler makes his way towards his seat beside me and sits down.
"Yep!" he says as the teacher enters and the class begin to settle down, "And I've got so much to tell you!"
This is going to be a long lesson...

Maths finishes after what seems like an eternity and as do my other lessons. It's the end of the day and I leave my Geography class and head outside to wait for Finn. We'd all agreed to go to Violet's tonight and bowling together tomorrow, despite Ruby's moaning.
Speaking of the devil, Ruby comes running out of school, a shocked look on her face.
"Ruby!" I yell, making my way over to her, "What's up?"
She looks at me and does a double take, "Oh, Alex! Um, I'm good,"
Something's up.
"You're not telling me something,"
Ruby looks behind her, towards the building she just came out of, as if she wants to stop time before something bad happens.
"No, it's just- I," she says, stuttering.
"Dude just tell me what's happened!" I exclaim, frustrated.
But there's no need for her to.
As soon as I finish my sentence, a girl's voice, giggling, comes from behind us, where Ruby was looking.
"Finn, please," is all I hear.
I spin around and immediately feel sick to my stomache as I see my boyfriend standing there, his arm around another girl. I recognise her as one of the girls in our Physics class, the one who made Finn show off. She's looking at him and he's at her, as if they're about to kiss.
He seems oblivious that I'm watching him, until a few seconds later when he notices and pulls his arm free. He starts heading in my direction, but a tear rolls down my cheek and I run before he can reach me.
Ruby calls my name just once, but when I don't respond she decides to let me be alone. I hear my name being called by Finn and lame excuses like "Let me explain" and "It wasn't what it looked like" start spilling out of his mouth. I don't turn around, I don't care.
He's taken away the one thing I thought we always had. Trust. Just like Luke did. But Luke didn't just mess around with it like Finn did. Although I'm sad and angry, nothing could compare to how I felt the last time I spoke to Luke.
There we go again!
Why am I always thinking about him?
