"Carter! Head off the desk now and at least look like you're paying attention," Mr Ward mutters.
Everyone laughs as Carter lifts his head up, confused, before putting it straight back down again.
Mr Ward just shakes his head but carries on teaching the lesson. We're in Physics aka my least favourite subject ever invented. Luckily, Finn and I are in the same class so I always have him to help me out. I may be a lot smarter than I was 2 years ago, but Physics just doesn't seem to like me very much.
"Sir, let me hand them out," Max offers, standing up quickly.
He rushes over to the front desk and grabs the worksheets out of Mr Ward's hands before he has a chance to reply. I look over at Finn, who is giving me a look as if to say "why are we friends with this loser?" but I just laugh to myself.
"Of course," the teacher sighs.
Half the time, he acts like he wishes us all dead but we all know he'd be devestated without us.
As the sheets are passed around, the classroom is filled with groans which can only mean that it's another homework assignment.
"But sir, we had homework last week,"
"No way am I doing this,"
"Why do you hate us?"
"This is so unfair, oh my God,"
"We didn't even learn this!"
I'm looking at the homework, trying to piece it together so I can ask questions before the bell goes, when someone pulls out a stall in the empty place next to me. I smile when I see my boyfriend beside me.
"Do you understand this?" Finn asks, his eyebrows furrowed.
Slowly, I shake my head.
"I'm not sure anyone understands this," I sigh.
"Great! Then we don't have to do it," he grins.
I laugh, "Shut up. You're going to do this and you know you will. You've never missed out a piece of homework in your whole life,"
Finn makes a gesture, telling me to keep my voice down. Although he is one of the smartest people in the school, he tries to keep it quiet so people don't pester him 24/7.
"Come over tonight? We can take a look at it together," he suggests, playing with a piece of my hair.
"I guess that will work with me," I smile, "What time do you plan on taking me home?"
He grins back, "Whenever my princess wishes me to,"
A group of girls nearby, who have been eavesdropping, 'aww' in unison.
Finn looks at them, then back to me, smiling and trying not to laugh. I do the same.
He then decides to drape his arm over my shoulder, which only makes the girls freak out even more. As I lock my hand into his, the smell of his deodorant hits me like a wave. I love that he's not embarrassed to do these things in public, but sometimes he does it too often and I'm starting to think it's because he likes to make people jealous. However, I know I'm probably just exaggerating.
"Finn, this is a Physics lesson. Please save your sexual movements until lunch time," Mr Ward says aloud, adjusting his glasses.
Finn laughs and gives me a quick peck on the cheek before returning to his place.
"Sorry about that Sir. I guess I can wait until later," he says, winking at me.
I laugh quietly, before images of Luke start to appear in my mind. Shaking my head doesn't help, instead it just makes me look like a loser. Why is Luke always on my mind now? Of course I still think about him, but never this often. It makes me worry that something is going to happen. And I don't like the sound of it.
