A/N: Sorta all over the place, but I think it's good enough to publish! Let me know what you thought of this one in the comments!

It was a usual thing for you both to do.

Every Friday night, the same order of events played out.

He shows up at your front door, you both take a walk to the mutual favorite coffee shop, and then it's time for a walk along the harbor, watching the boats in the summer and the cold waves in the winter.

And then, from the harbor, under the cover of usual darkness, the pair of you scale the side of whatever building you so choose - preferably one with an unobstructed view of your surroundings as well as minimal chance for interruptions.

All of which leads to the usual Friday night activity - simply enjoying the sight of the city sprawled below as well as each other's company.

And that's where you are now, legs dangling over the edge of whatever building you and Peter Parker had chose earlier, the bustling New York City night traffic sounding almost muffled at this height.

"Please be careful!" Your boyfriend shouts from where he's standing, on the flatter part of the roof, attempting to put together the small two person tent that the pair of you spend these summer nights in.

"I am being careful!" You holler back with a chuckle, though a piece of you feels guilty for dismissing his concerns with such humor.

His concerns are valid - far more valid than you wanting to see how far you can push yourself to the edge.

But, you shrug the guilt aside, nearing Peter's side and joining in on his struggle.

"Remind me again why we do this every week of the summer?" He fumes, wrestling with the pole that nearly pokes his eye out in the process.

"Because it's fun," You reply, wrangling your same end of the pole, finally securing it in place before moving onto the next one. "And, it's good to spend time together."

"Yeah," Peter grins softly across from you, securing yet another tent pole with much more ease than the previous one. "It is."

Returning his smile, your gaze wanders to the now more structured tent.

And as the pair of you secure the last canopy over top of the shelter, you step back to admire your handiwork.

The darkness up here is much darker than the usual streets below, bathed in the lights of taxis, streetlights and even the light from people's apartment windows.

But the absence of light doesn't bother you.

In fact, you feel more comfortable up here than you ever do down there - constantly bombarded with the hubbub of people.

Up here, it's peaceful.

It's a chance to get away from everything and just... relax.

No constant reminder of how messed up things are, no concerns of how you both are gonna pay next month's rent in the shared apartment you've been renting...

Peter must notice your staring off into the distance, because a soft "hey" echoes from outside your train of thought.

Followed shortly after by an arm slipping around your waist and pulling you closer towards him.

"You were spacing out on me again," Peter teases, a playful glimmer in his brown eyes, barely visible through the dim darkness surrounding the pair of you.

"Sorry," You chuckle, your own arm reaching around his lower back, pulling you closer.

"Don't apologize," He breathes, his face mere centimeters from yours now, his warm breath tickling your cheek. "I'm sure you were coming up with your next genius project."
