Saul

Rachel had been different for a while now. Seemed like there was always something wrong with her. Not in a bad way. Like something was bothering her. I didn't have anything even resembling an idea, so I decided to ask Izzy. He was very observant. We were taking a break from practicing, and it was just me and him since the others went to get food.

"Hey, Iz?"

"What's up Slasher?"

"Can I ask you something?"

"Fire away."

"Do you think Rachel's been different the past few weeks?"

"Oh, you mean the baby fever?"

The hell did that come from?

"What?"

"She has baby fever. Pretty obvious too."

"How'd you know?"

"Slash, everyone knows but you."

"How?"

"She keeps looking and rubbing her stomach all sad. She reads magazines about babies. Every time we go somewhere she points out babies or baby clothes. Slash, has she seriously not said anything?"

"No! I know there's something wrong with her and she won't tell me. I knew you'd know though, so I figured I'd ask you. I'm gonna go talk to her. Tell Ax I'll record my parts tomorrow."

"See ya later Slash."

Rachel

I was watching TV in my room, All in the Family. Gloria had just had her baby. Great. Just what I needed. I sighed and changed the channel. When A Man Loves a Women. More kids. I decided to just turn off the TV and get out of bed.

I showered and was reading on the couch, The Notebook. More kids.

Damn, everything has kids involved.

I've had baby fever for the past month. I don't see it going away any time soon either. I mean, I want a baby so bad, but I don't think Saul's ready. Appetite is getting ready to be released and then there's the tour and everything is gonna be ruined for him if we get pregnant. I just want a baby. But I can't have one right now.

It. Is. Killing. Me.

Speaking of Saul, he walked through the door, a serious expression falling on his handsome face. I got up and gave him a quick hug and peck on the cheek.

"Hey, babe. How was the stu-"

I was cut off when Saul pulled me onto the couch, shushing me gently. My back was to his chest and his arms resting on my knees that I had pulled forward.

"Babe?"
 I asked.

"You want a baby, don't you?"

Talk about not beating around the bush.

"Yea Saul, I really do."

"Since when?"
He asks starting to play with my hair.

"A month, maybe two."

"How come you didn't tell me?"
 He sighs.

"Because you're too busy. The album, tours coming up, you can't handle a baby on top of that too. I want a baby, but I can wait."

"You should've told me."

"I didn't want you to leave."

"Leave? Why would I leave you, baby?"

"Because you're not ready Saul. And I didn't wanna force you into something. I just want you to be happy." I said, voice cracking and a few stray tears falling from my eyes.

"Baby."
He says softly into my ear, turning me over so my head was buried in his chest.

"I love you, Saul."

"I know baby. I love you too."

"I figured it would go away you know. That it would just be another daily thing. But then it didn't go away."

"We could have a baby."
Saul said, sounding confident.

"No Saul, we're to-"

"No, listen. I know you've been different. This is something you've been wanting babe. I can see it."

"We're not ready for something like this." I tried to reason.

"Think babe. We could try, then we go from there. I want you to be happy too. It's not just about me." He smiled.

"You really wanna try? You want this?" I asked.

"Yea June-bug, I do. I really do."

"I love you, Saul," I said leaning up to kiss him.

"C'mon. Let's go make a baby."
He chuckled before lifting me up and carrying me upstairs.
