Angsty Fluff
🎸
"It was inevitable. Everything that's good has to come to an end, right?"
I said bitterly, looking over at Nikki with teary eyes.
"June, baby-"
"Don't. Don't you dare act like you're thinking about anyone but yourself, Nikki."
I snapped, angrily wiping the tears that fell down my face.
"I can't hurt you more than I already have. I won't."
Nikki said, shaking his head.
"When you first told me that you stepped out on me, I should've broken it off right then. Instead of letting it loom over my head and letting you pull this bullshit."
I ranted, standing to be at eye level with him.
"What bullshit? I'm just doing what's best for us."
He defended, eyebrows furrowing together.
"You mean you wanted an out, and you found one. Great. Good for you; get the fuck out of my house."
I said, moving to shove him out of my house.
"June, June, stop! Listen!"
Nikki raised his voice.
"Don't you dare raise your fucking voice at me. This is your fault."
I said, poking his chest and giving him one final push out of my door.
"Would you at least let me stay here tonight? I'll even sleep on the couch. Please, it's late, and I don't want to drive two hours to go home."
He sighed, looking at me with pleading eyes.
"Sleep in your car for all I care."
I snapped before shutting my door.
I sighed before heading to my bedroom and beginning to pack up Nikki's things that he had here. We'd been together for a little under a year, so we hadn't moved in with one another, which I suppose I should be thankful for right now. On any other day, I'd say, 'Hopefully soon, staying away is tough,' but today, I could not be more thankful for the fact we live separately. I grabbed his few shirts, jeans, and sweats, throwing them in a box I labeled 'clothes'. Nikki had a toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, body wash a few hair products here, so I threw those in a box with random knick-knacks that were his.
"Packing me up, already?"
Nikki asked from behind me, startling me.
"How'd you get back in?"
I asked, moving past him to put his records and CDs in a box.
"You gave me a key, remember?"
He said, following me to my shelves.
"Leave it on the table and get out. Take your shit with you too."
I said, throwing the rest of his vinyls in the box.
"You don't have to be such a-"
"Such a what? Bitch? I think I reserve the right, thanks."
I snarked, handing Nikki his box of records. I walked into my bedroom and grabbed the other two boxes to take to him.
"Here's everything else. You can put these in your car, and I'll make up the couch. You can sleep here, I guess."
I sighed, setting the boxes on the floor.
"I can go; you clearly don't want to see me anymore."
Nikki rolled his eyes.
"Nikki, just go put the boxes in your car, then come in here and get some sleep. Please? I don't want you driving that late, and I know you're not in the mood. So please just do what I suggest."
I ranted softly.
Nikki nodded and headed out to his car, taking his boxes with him. I quickly made up a bed with extra blankets, and I gave Nikki one of the pillows from my bed. Nikki came in with sweats and a shirt in his hand.
"You know where everything is. You can change if you want, make a sandwich if you get hungry, TV if you can't sleep."
I said, motioning to everything as I spoke.
