Chapter 45: Crazy People

Liam and I, walked down, hand in hand. He was a step ahead than me in the stairs, making sure I wont stumble due to the gown. Both of us couldn't stop smiling.

I cannot believe we were mad at each other for nothing. A small miscommunication could have ended our friendship. We should have openly talked about it earlier. I regret not talking properly. But what matters is, he is with me now. I am so grateful towards Ariana and Prinsiya. I cannot wait to talk with them, and ask them when did they plan all this.

"I am so nervous!" Liam said as we reach in front of the stage.

"Me too!" I gave him a weak smile.

Liam and I walked towards Hardin and Ariana. Ariana smiled at us, maybe she knew we sorted things between us.

"Hello guys!" Prinsiya joined the stage.

Everyone cheered for her.

"Everyone did so great on the first round. And the names of the first 40 couples are in my hand." Prinsiya said, in an excited way.

"Imagine we become the Mr. and Miss. Freshers!" Liam said, looking at me.

"Hehe!" I giggled, I had nothing to say.

"The first couple who is in top 40 is .... Rahul and Siwani" Prinsiya announced, making the crowd jump in happiness.

Well, they are of our class. They are one of the cutest couples I've ever seen. They deserved to get in the top 40, even though I couldn't hear their story, I just know, the way they look at each other tells how much they love each other. 

"The second couple is... Hardin and Ariana" Prinsiya cheered.

Yes!!! That's my girl! Ariana and I hugged in joy.

"Congratulations! Guys!" We four had a group hug.

The Prinsiya started announcing the names of other couples. My ears just wanted to hear Liam and Ellie. I was crossing my fingers.

"And the 40th couple is ..." P said, and stopped. She didn't look happy. Maybe it was not our name. Maybe we didn't make it.

"The 40th couple is John and Sarah!" Prinsiya said, breaking our heart.

"It's okay!" Liam held my hands tightly. I just nodded my head. Prinsiya looked disappointed too, but she didn't let it show in her face.

"It's fine." I hugged Liam, and he patted my back.

Well! honestly, it was sad.

"Cheers! To our top 40 couples." A judge walked in the stage.

"All of you were so amazing. It was so hard to select 40 couples. All the stories were heart touching and the presentation was just awesome. But there's something we judges want to explain." The judge spoke, confusing all of us.

"There was a couple, Ellie and Liam. It's so sad the couple couldn't make it to top 40. And the reason was, only one had the chance to present. We wanted to select them but it would have been biased for the other participants." The judge said, making us realize the rules of the contest.

"Even though they couldn't make in to top 40, these two stole the entire competition. Each and every word they said were so pure and true. We could feel the emotion in their words and see the love in their eyes. We hope you guys solve all the misunderstandings between you guys." The judge said.

"But..." Another judge interrupted and joined the stage.

"What Ellie and Liam had in common was so heartwarming. It felt like they knew each other from the long time. The way they stood by each other in the time of difficulty is what we seek in Mr. and Miss fresher. Both of them spoke their heart out, staying beside each other. When Ellie had nothing to say, Liam helped her without caring about the rules. When Liam was emotional, Ellie became his words." The judge said, surprising us. Were we that good?
