Chapter 43: Do I like him?

Ellie's POV:

I cannot believe today is the welcome party. A week passed so quickly. I am here in the balcony, drying my hair after taking a shower. It's so warm, it's feeling good.

"Ellie?" I heard dad calling me.

"Yes dad!" I replied and walked in to the living room.

Mom and dad were waiting for me, don't know why.

"Here it is" Dad passed me a box, wrapped in gift wrapper. I turned to my mom before taking the gift. Mom expressed me to take it.

I smiled and took the box from dad.

"What is it?" I asked. Honestly, I wasn't expecting it.

"Open it!" Dad smiled.

I nodded and opened the box. It was a diamond necklace set. My mouth was left open. It was so beautiful. Mom was as surprised as me.

"Dad!" I couldn't say anything.

"My daughter deserves the best. You are already so beautiful but this necklace will be cherry on the top." He smiled.

"But it must be so expensive." I hesitated. We were slowly working on our relationship; the necklace was too much.

"It isn't expensive than my girl!" Dad said, making my heart go aww.

"Keep it darling." Mom proudly said. I could see the happiness in her eyes.

"I'm sure you're going to rock tonight!" Dad smiled.

"Thank you." I smiled.

Then both of them went to their own room saying they had some work. I nodded and went to my room.

I don't know what I'm going to do in the party. Everyone will be with their partner; I'll be the only one alone and single. Whatever! I'm going for free food. It's just 12 pm, I still have 4 hours to kill. Maybe I should take a good nap.

I lied on the bed and fell asleep without even realizing.

"Ellie! Wake up." Mom woke me up, patting my back.

"Oh god! I over slept!" I woke up.

"A gentleman is waiting for you downstairs." Mom blushed.

"A who?" I asked, I was confused. I don't remember anyone coming me to pick up.

"Go and call him upstairs. He'll be bored waiting for you downstairs, you still haven't changed your dress. Go and invite him upstairs." Mom said, leaving my room.

I wonder who came to pick me up. Hardin and Ariana wanted to pick me up but I remember telling them not to. I came out of my bed and went to the ground floor. A tall guy was standing in the lobby with a rose in his hand. I couldn't see his face as he was standing in a distance. I walked toward him just to realize, Liam came to pick me up.

He was wearing a black suit, his hair properly managed. Truly a gentleman.

"My lady!" Liam gave me the rose. I was speechless. I had no idea what was happening.

"Liam?" I called his name.

"You're looking so pretty." He brought his face closer to mine and whispered in my ear, sending chills all over my body.

"I am not ready yet." I stammered.

"Go and get ready. I'll wait." He smiled, melting my heart.

"But you already have someone else to pair up with." I made a puppy face.

"I haven't paired up with anyone... it was always you." He held my hands, making my heart warm.
