That lady was standing in the door. She was holding the same basket with white flowers. She was wearing a white gown and had a long hair. That was the first time I noticed her appearance, no idea why.
I took few steps back when I saw her. I wanted to run away but I couldn't leave Grand pa alone with her.
"It's time Mr. John." She walked towards us and turned to grandpa John ignoring me.
"I am ready." Grandpa gave her a weak smile.
"What do you mean?" I turned to grandpa.
"I am dead kiddo. I have to go." Grandpa said, giving me a sweet smile.
"Who's she?" I asked him, preferring to that lady.
"She guides us to the afterlife." He said turning to that woman.
"What's afterlife?" I asked, I had no idea what it was.
"It's a place we go after we die." He replied.
"Is that a good place?" I asked. I was curious cause I remembered her saying Bunny and his family were at afterlife.
"It depends on the deeds you did when you were alive." That woman replied. That woman and her grinning face!!
"If you were a good and kind being, afterlife is a good place for you but if you weren't afterlife is quiet a bad place." She added, a smirk on her face.
"So, you're a grim reaper?" I asked.
"You can understand it that way but I am here to help the wandering souls just like you." She spoke. That time she gave me a sweet smile instead of that creepy grin.
"And Mr. John, thank you so much for making her realize her death. I tried to talk to her so many times but failed every single time." She added giving me a cruel look. So that meant she showed up in front of me just to tell me that I was dead.
Grandpa John was not even paying attention to us. He was staring at his family with eyes full of tears. It must have been hard for him.
"Do you want to spend some more time?" That woman asked, with eyes full of concern.
"No, I can't stay here anymore or it'll be harder to leave." Grandpa said, trying to smile.
"Let's go together." I said.
I was dead too. I too had to leave. It was better to leave with someone I knew than to leave alone later. Honestly, I was tired. I was tired of waiting. My parents already started a new life at a new place with their new baby, they no longer needed me. It was meaningless to stay. Yes, I wanted to meet them but I was hurt, they didn't even try searching my body for a bit longer.
"No Luna, you can't leave now." She said, bringing me back to reality.
"Why?" I asked. I was shocked.
"I will answer all your questions but let me send Mr. John off first." She said and I nodded. When did I started listening to her?
She took out a flower from her basket and gave it to grandpa.
"Bye Luna. See you soon." Grandpa John took the flower from her and all of sudden some white rays fell on him. And with the rays Grandpa John disappeared.
"Rest in Peace Grandpa" I looked up at the sky and whispered.
"Aren't you scared of me now?" The lady laughed, turning to me. I gave her a cruel look. I don't know why and how; I was not scared of her anymore. Maybe I realized she wasn't a ghost. Or maybe I was a ghost? Whatever makes sense.
