"I'm sorry."

"Not now." Jamie leans forward while looking into the rereview mirror, wanting to ensure that a certain couple isn't chasing after them. The shift between the moment Wolf laid eyes on his parents to when he let their presence since in was startling. When it seems they aren't being followed, Jamie tosses her gun into the cubbyhole and adjusts her seat since it's Wolf's car and he sits different to her---all the while keeping her hand on the wheel.

"Are you okay?" She asks finally when they've been driving for a while.

"I don't know." He answers honestly and Jamie grabs hold of his hand, bringing it up to her lips and kissing the back of it.

"I'll protect you."

Wolf chuckles and Jamie laughs too, turning on the blinkers and pulling over on the side of the road and closing her window before clicking out the key and turning in her seat to look at him, a determined look on her face. "I'm serious. I'll be the knight and you'll be my distressed dude."

Smiling, Wolf rests his cheek in his palm, the way Jamie was looking at him, matched with her words was igniting something so deep inside of him that he's never felt before and he has to look down as the grin spreads wide.

"What?" Jamie asks, confused.

"You know I love you, right?"

All the air rushes out of the Davenport daughter as her lips part in surprise. The way he said the words so casually as though it was the most obvious thing in the world sent her into near shock. His tone so sure as though this was just another day of the masked male professing his undying love to her when in reality...it's not only the first time the directed words leave his lips but the first time she surely knew what to respond, knowing how right it sounded. "Good," She finally says and he looks at her intently, searching her gaze for her next words as her eyes turn with so many thoughts, he can't seem to decipher. "I love you too."

Pressing the button on the car system that tints the windows, Wolf lower his mask and leans across the console, watching her lips get nearer before pressing his lips to hers.

"I need you to save me right now." He whispers against her lips, kissing them slowly and she nods, trailing her hand up his chest and to the back of his neck, massaging gently to let him know that she's right here. Sometimes when you find the person who holds your heart in their hands, you can't help but give them yours in return.

"Okay, love. All you needed to do was ask." Jamie pulls Wolf in for another kiss and smiles when his tongue swipes over her own once, before drawing away slowly, only to deepen the contact. Trust, along with content are poured into the kiss for what feels like forever before detaching fully and breathing heavy.

Settling back in their own seats, Wolf slides his hand over Jamie's leg and sits back, while Jamie pushes the gear into drive and lowers her foot over the gas as she slowly joins the main road again, her lips tightly closed as she tries to mask her smile.

Watching Jamie out of the corner of his gaze, Wolf knows that not only has he met his match, but he's met the match.

~•Jamie•~

Walking into my mom's house with Wolf at my side, I'm surprised when the voices of my sisters drift towards us from the kitchen, the two of us still 'happy go lucky' from what happened in the car.

I'm glad he said it...I was dying to know that he was as serious as I am before falling way head over heels without the hope of getting caught but he was right there to fall with me. With all the obstacles he's jumped through just for me, I'd be concerned if he wasn't in love with me. I glance up him as he fixes his mask over his face, looking down at me from the corner of his eye and I bite my lip and grin.
