NADIA'S POV

For a reason I didn't know, Raheem was acting weird. I had called him a few time with no answer, so I called Hamzah who let me speak to him. When I did he sounded like he couldn't wait to get off, which was very unusual.

At the time I knew this probably wasn't the best idea, but I wanted to know what the problem was and I wasn't going to wait three days and have him probably not tell me.

This is definitely a bad idea

I got to the building and parked my car in my spot -yes Raheem's extra arse designated a spot just for me- right next to his. His car was there so I knew he was in, and It wasn't a complete waste of my time.

I still got the occasional side glances but other than that everyone was nice to me. I wasn't sure if that was because they were scared that I'd snitch on them if they didn't -which I'd never do- or because they actually liked me.

Once I was on Raheem's floor, I realised how unusually tense the atmosphere was. It was tense whenever Raheem was in the building but this was a different level.

Samantha was sat at her desk hesitantly drinking a cup of coffee when she saw me walking up to her. "Is he in there?" I asked and she frowned.

"Umm...no..."

"Don't lie to me, I saw his car"

"Fine, he is. But he said he doesn't want to be disturbed by anyone" she made emphasis on the 'anyone'.

"Okay?"

"Even you"

"He said that?"

She nodded slowly as if to make me feel better "Please Nadia, he's been really... I don't know, different, since yesterday, much scarier. If I let another person in he'll probably fire me"

"He isn't going to fire you. I'll tell him You weren't here, so you didn't see me go in. Wish me luck" She smiled as I pushed the door open and walked in.

"Good luck"

Holy shit...

"What the hell happened in here?" I said a bit louder than I intended. It was a mess.

His head shot up from the desk and his eyes locked with mine as I stood rooted in my spot by the door. "Nadia?" He looked at me confused. His eyes were red like he hadn't slept in days and his appearance confirmed that. He was a wreck. Messy un-styled hair, his tie was non-existent, the top two buttons of his shirt undone and he had dark circles under his red eyes. "What you doing here?"

"I- I don't know, I just thought I'd stop by, check up on you. What happened in here Raheem?" I asked again looking around not wanting to move. There was glass and paper's all over the floor.

"Nothing." He got up and started making his way to me.

"Well, doesn't look like nothing to me. Have you been drinking? You look terrible"

"Why thank you" he stumbled and I caught hold of him before he could fall on any glass. The smell of alcohol invaded my nostrils making it even more clear that he definitely wasn't sober. "But didn't I say I'd see you in Sunday."

"Saturday. You need to go home"

"Do I?" He asked raising a brow challenging me. The annoyance in me was growing and I wasn't about to play games with him.

"I'm taking you home." He was about to counter my statement but I didn't let him "No. This is unacceptable Raheem. I don't know what's going on with you right now so I'm going to take you home, you're going to sober the fuck up then fill me in. Yes?"
