Saturday/Sunday

The auction was definitely a fun experience however I felt broke compared to these people. The amount of money they were willing to spend on a single painting was more than what I'd make in a year.

Raheem said that if I saw one that I really liked I should bid on it because it was all part of the experience. I didn't want to because I didn't have that kind of money to throw around he assures me it wasn't a problem.

Two men brought out the next art piece. It was a five foot painting of amazingly realistic calla lillies. It was something you could decorate a room around and I loved it. "We'll start at five thousand" the auctioneer -Kai- said and a few people started silently bidding.

"Oh that is beautiful. I can just se-" I muttered to myself before I knew it, Raheem was holding my hand that had the paddle with my number on it, up in the air. My bid was for ten thousand dollars "What are you doing?"

"You're bidding."

Thankfully it was a silent auction so I didn't have to stress about the shouting and confrontation of the different bids. If it wasn't I probably would have backed out even with Raheems help.

In the end -kudos to Raheem- the painting was mine for a mere fifteen thousand dollars -as he put it- I wanted to back out but he made it impossible.

After the whole thing was over we went to pay. Raheem had bought a few for himself as well, I didn't even want to try and do the math for how much it all came up to including mine. "I'll pay you back"

"You will do no such thing." He said writing a check. As he was passing the slip of paper to some guy, I caught a glimpse of a whole bunch of zeros and almost had a heart attack, so I clutched my chest.

"You okay?"

"Yea, I'm fine..." I trailed off noticing a familiar red dress coming in our direction. Once Raheem caught sight of what was distracting me, he turned to face them wrapping his arm around my waist and gave it a light reassuring squeeze.

This time she was with her brother and I was with Raheem so I figured maybe she would have gathered some manners. "Oh, Nadia" Kai said stopping in front of us. "I hope you enjoyed yourself"

They looked at me awaiting my response all except miss 'I can take your man if I want to' She was too busy checking out Raheem "I did thank you" I smiled "Also you should pursue auctioning you're a natural. I think, this was my first time, so I wouldn't know"

"Thank you" he laughed showcasing his dimples and set of pearly whites "I'll definitely take that into consideration. I think you met my sister Katherine earlier?"

"I'm sorry I've met so many nice people today, I don't remember if you were one of them, still got to get used to this but I'm sure it was lovely to meet you" There was a flash of pain and hatred in her face making me feel accomplished.

"The pleasure was all mine" The she devil said flashing the fakest smile i've seen to date. And I've seen and given a shit ton of fake smiles.

"Definitely" I mirror her expression.

"Yea, mhmm, Raheem do you have a minute?" Katherine asked as flirty she could, even went as far as dragging her manicured finger down his arm. She was really pushing my buttons in the worst ways possible. I just stared at her hand and genuinely started to feel sick although her presence alone could accomplish that.

Desperate much? I've never punched anyone in the face before... Today is full of firsts might just add another to the list.

"No, we were just leaving actually." Raheem said flatly, slightly moving his arm away from her.
